It means he doesn't have a clue who the person is just like no one really knows who Adam was.

I've heard the phrase 'You don't know me from Adam' meaning...
I guess that person wouldn't know one person from the next...?

maybe he is saying your girlfriend is like a man....that he can't tell your girlfriend and adam apart....who knows....
