We are in 2007, now it's time to get another level, don't you think so ?

Why do the Turks always think with their pride ?

Don't you think that now, in 21th century, it's time to be an exemple for humanism and juctice ?
I mean, just like Germany after WWII...

They admited their mistakes and their crimes, and Israel even forgave them.

So why could we just do the same ?

Why ? WHY ?

think about this way.......
what if we (Turkey) are right, what if it wasn't a genocide
because there is a diffrence between genocide and massacre.
This is not a solved problem in the history. We (Turkish) are opening our state archives and offering them to do the same. They are refusing,WHY?
In the following you'll find my own opinion about your question, please read it and tell us about your thougts, thank you......
Unfortunately some bad things happened during that time but it was war time.Turkish side never denies what happened and opens the war archives which says somewhere between 200-300 thousand Armenians were died during the relocation.Armenian side refuses to open the archives and says 1,5 million Armenians were killed systematicly but never mention about what happened to the Armenian population in Istanbul or the other major cities of the empire. They don't want to answer how 1,5 million can be killed while whole Armenian population in the empire was 1 million. They don't want the world to know that who started the conflict or what would be the punishment of betrayel during the time period. On the other hand Ottoman empire was not alone in the 1st WW,nothing could be found in the German archives,or British or French not even in the Russian.
All we can say now is it was a sad occasion, unfortunately happened but it can not called genocide it was only one of the massacres of the 1st WW.

yes, every one is lying but ......!!!!!!!!!

The Plan for the Armenian Genocide

The German Vice Consul at Erzerum, Count Max Erwin von Scheubner- Richter, summarizes the Armenian Genocide quite succintly in a report to his superiors:
I have conducted a series of conversations with competent and influential Turkish personages, and these are my impressions: A large segment of the Ittahadist [Young Turk] party maintains the viewpoint that the Turkish empire should be based only on the principle of Islam and Pan-Turkism. Its non-Muslim and non-Turkish inhabitants should either be forcibly islamized, or otherwise they ought to be destroyed. These gentlemen believe that the time is propitious for the realization of this plan. The first item on this agenda concerns the liquidation of the Armenians. Ittihad will dangle before the eyes of the allies the specter of an alleged revolution prepared by the Armenian Dashnak party. Moreover local incidents of social unrest and acts of Armenian self-defense will deliberately be provoked and inflated and will be used as pretexts to effect the deportations. Once en route however, the convoys will be attacked and exterminated by Kurdish and Turkish brigands, and in part by gendarmes, who will be instigated for that purpose by Ittihad.

Sorry but I had to write down what I thought about all this spectacle the asker calls a legitimate question.

Begging everyone's indulgence but isn't this a reverse tactic on the part of whoever it is? SO YOU MUST RECOGNIZE THE GENOCIDE !!!! For me it seems like a sign of desperation.

This seems like a different version of the "If you can't beat them join them technique". Instead of coming into this fora as an Armenian or some other nationality, they adopt the guise of a Turk so as to illicit a response which of course is an admission.

I'm sure some people here are tired of defending themselves, cutting and pasting resources for you to read but don't. Dispelling the claim of a so called "Armenian Genocide" (No pun intended). Instead you use lame tactics which has become a little amusing to outsiders including me.

What's the big deal guys? Let the ICJ handle it. That is their purpose, that is why they are there. Open those damn archives as one answerer said and let them be the judge of it. But until then, leave the Turkey travel section in peace and go back to your debates in your section. As far as I've been here in answers, I haven't seen any Turk here do the same to you in respect to hounding them with questions about an event that might or might not have happened.

....../....
I went home and slept at about 1 o’clock. At about 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning, I heard several distant rifle shots coming from the city.
I heard the sounds of rammed doors in the city. I heard the same foot steps of the touring Armenian detachments who were gathering the townsmen in the daylight, as well as the voices of people.
There were no signs of coming help. Having observed the arresting of the townspeople, I suddenly developed a feeling that the Armenians were getting ready for massacres feverishly and fervently.
After having evaluated the situation I came to the conclusion that: first, while were fighting with the Turks honorably and defending Erzurum, those blood-thirsty and coward Armenian “freedom fighters” were deceiving us with what they did from behind.
They started to carry out full-scale massacres on the unarmed elderly, women, and children without worrying about libeling their own names before the world public opinion, let alone libeling the reputation of the Russian officers.
Those who did not know enough about the developments
might have thought that the Russian officers were helping the
Armenians in realizing their activities. Secondly, the attackers could have been the orderly Turkish forces. If they were not there yet, they would have come the other day at dawn, or later in the day.
Fighting against the orderly Turkish units did not have any place neither in the peace plans of our Army Command nor in our given tasks.

You are serving a good purpose:
You are keeping Turkish users busy.
You are also giving away that there is an Armenian watchdog
out there assigned to stamp the word genocide everywhere.
You are giving Turks more arguments to comprehend
what genetic problems the users like yourselves have.
You are helping Turks to ease some stress.
You are helping Turks to strenghten their belief that they still are superior over some other nations on earth.
I hope you are being paid for this.
