You should be able to legally, laws vary from county to county, but small children in or out of carseats should not sit in the front seat of a vehicle equipped with Airbags. It can be harmful or fatal if they deploy. Never put a rear facing child seat in the front seat. I know some trucks have the option of turning off the passenger airbag. It would be best to contact your local ford dealership for more details on their airbag systems.

The following statement is taken right out of your owners manual:

"Check your local and state or provincial laws for specific
requirements regarding the safety of children in your vehicle"

That being said.....
I highly recommend that you read the ENTIRE chapter (pages 104-148) in your owners manual regarding the passenger side airbag & child safety. There are MULTIPLE warnings & precautions regarding the safety issues of putting child seats in the front seat. There are also explicit directions as to how, why, & when to de-activate the passenger side airbag.

In the event that you do not have an owners manual, I am happy to provide you with the (free) link to download it.
I highly recommend that you: not only download it, but save it to your computer for future reference,

If the child is under 12 you must be able to turn the passenger air bag off. If not i would not recommend it for you child to ride in the truck. Most all trucks come with a passenger air bag off option. Great truck choice and safety should be thought of whether it is legal or not.
