Its okay - you only need to put a pebble in front of it to stop it rolling away!

Take it to the garage. In the meantime, park the car on flat ground and in gear, not neutral.

weird. this happened to me last week. took a hour n da garage to fix it. was told that its safe enough to drive but u wouldnt wanna get stuck on a hill start like! can u negotiate the pedals to do hill starts without touching the handbreak? id get it to a garage, even a quick fix may not sort it fully n u could get badly stuck

hi.
you need to tighten the handbrake cable which is found by the handbrake lever usualy. its like a bike brake cable. pull that and tighten it.
its quite simple but if you dont want to take your car apart then take it to a garage.

Probably broken cable, garage job, as above whack in gear with brick under wheel but try and keep the brick out of view in case some idiot ....

Tightening the cable will not resolve your problem. They need stripping and checking. Worn shoes, seized calliper, cylinder leakage are all possible causes.

Brakes are a safety item so get it fixed properly.
