Chivalry, silly. He's trying to be a gentleman. Let him be a gentleman. There aren't enough of them in the world. Enjoy yours.

If a girl offers to help out, I'll usually accept, unless it's like a special occasion. I usually just assume that I'm going to pay for everything, but a financial break every once in a while is welcome! On a first date, I've always paid for everything. I've even insisted on it before, just because I think there's something honorable about it. The girl was kind of put off because I was so firm about it, so since then my perspective has changed, and I'm open to girls paying for dates, but I've also learned not to expect it.

That's they way most guys were brought up. A lot of guys enjoy paying for dates. I'm going through that now myself. We've been dating for about 3 weeks now and he insists of paying for everything. I have stepped in and paid for a few dates because I felt like I needed to contribute something. But I let him do most of the paying because he wants to. If he wants to pay for the dates, let him. If you feel like your just taking and not giving to the relationship think of other ways to contribute to your dating that doesn't involve paying on your dates.

Because if a guy pays for the date he can expect something afterwords.
Dont listen to me im just scorned.
When my ex and i would go out he would insist on paying. I would get up to use the rest room and tell the waiter i was ready for the check and ask him to give it to me and not my boyfriend and i would pay it before i got back. Sometimes we would wrestle at register over who was paying.
Later he told me he had alot of respect for me for not expecting him to pay all the time.

He's being a gentleman. If you two hit it off, it's an investment because you'll pay eventually. mainly, because it's the woman's choice or decision who will granted permission to try to win her heart, so good men want to show they're appreciative of the opportunity. Ya dig? Just like you spending money on an outfit. It's money spend to buy a good first impression

It makes him feel un-masculine. This is why alot of boys ***** about feminism. Girls want all the bonuses of being a dude but none of the pitfalls. Your an exception. You have understand when you offer to pay for a guy AFTER the meal then its insulting. My suggestion is ask it this way "Can i treat you to dinner?" Then its clear your intention to pay and that your doing as special thing for him

Well, I am a little old fashioned so I feel as theh guy I should pay but as a relationship grows it becomes more 50/50 in that area. It's just a mans way of being polite.

It's tradition I guess...it's always been that way. But you and your boyfriend can take turns if you want. It's the future and women have more options so, why not? However, if your boyfriend wants to pay for the dates, there's nothing wrong with that!

Let your guy pay and don't ask questions. It's a guy thing. That's all you need to know.

If a girl goes forward and pay.. I would totally be impressed.. That ll make me respect her individuality more.. The girls who don't pay or don't offer to pay.. I know they are cheap and is indirect prostitution

its an old fashion thing...guys like to show their girl a good time it probably makes him feel cheap towards you if he doesnt pay...although if it always makes you feel uncomfortable let him pay for dinner and you pick up the movie or something like that...he just wants to show you a good time out and wants to pay to show for it...its all good
