Sin was started and maintained by Satan. He knows he has only a short time more to be free and wants to drag as many down with him as possible.
Giving in to sin is a choice of free will among everyone. Everyday we make choices. We use free will to make them. Without free will, we would be like animals operating on instinct alone.
More times than anyone would like to admit, Satan has little to do with it. Man does just fine on his own making bad choices. Sure some of us have Bible counsel to guide us but, that does not mean we always listen.

I hope this is not beside the point but why do people think that God made Pharaoh sin? Pharaoh's heart was already "hard" and it was not going to soften. All God did was speed up the one direction it was going in so Pharaoh could quickly demonstrate his intentions.
It could also work in the opposite direction. Remember, Paul persecuted Christians but when God came to Paul he demonstrated where his heart really was. God was then able to nudge his heart in the direction it was destined to go. The result is Paul became one of the most quoted of the New Testament. That is why it is important to respond to God in the positive. Satan is always willing to ASSIST anyone, Christian or otherwise, to do sinful things.

All sin is a product of our fallen nature.
As a non-believer, he is following his natural desires, doing what he wants to do. As a Christian, he has new desires (to be more like Christ and to worship Him), but he still struggles with his flesh. As a non-believer, he does not struggle with his flesh, but just follows his natural inclination.
God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. Gen 6:12
Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul. 1 Pet 2:11
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 1 John 2:16
So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices. Psalm 81:12
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Cor 5:17

You don't really think they will ever claim responsibility for their own actions do you?
If they mess up it simply has to be because the satan tempted them somehow.

That is a GREAT question. They will say though that people used their freewill to choose satan. That is never how its described though

So many double standards....
Christian gets rich -- God answers the prayers of believers
Atheist gets rich -- He is obsessed with material things
Christian crashes car -- God must have known this was for the best
Atheist crashes car -- Bad things happen to Godless people

free will is what you choose with...you choose the God way, or the Satan way..but it's your choice.
with a few exceptions, like one poster noted that God hardened Phaoroh's heart...all to fit into His plan...and Yul Brynner got an Oscar.

Noone sins BECAUSE of Satan. Satan can influence a person to sin, but the person CHOSES to sin.

Because most very religious people (MOST, I said) can't take responsibility when they do something wrong, so they blame it on Satan.
