Tithe money is taxed - unless you have a way to take it out of your paycheck on a pre-tax program. Churches don't pay taxes, but they should.

The people who tithe are taxed when they make the income.

All Churches are legally exempt from Taxation even if it's satanic or atheist (although the Church of satan does pay taxes anyways, but they at least don't engage in criminal activity like a lot of satanic cults would, due to wanting to protect legal status as a recognized church).

I am a Christian myself and I totally favor allowing all places of worship to have tax exempt status even if it is of a faith I disagree with.

Because it's considered to be a charitable donation, and the government never taxes charitable donations -- whether they're to a religious organization or a non-religious one.
