I was watching an old western, "good, bad & ugly" and the "ugly" told the "good" not to drink water after he's been dehydrated. So what's the best way to start eating or drinking?

Excellent movie!!! drinking too much water too fast when dehydrated will frequently cause vomiting thus increasing the dehydration situation. Similarily, the stomach gets used to not havein food so large amounts suddenly introduced in this situation will also cause vomiting, etc. The best way to start eating and drinking again would be under a doctors supervision.

Very slowly. Sip water through a small straw slowly, with breaks in between each gulp. And something very lite on the stomach to eat. Crackers and such until you get a little strength in you to build up to more food.

You are crazy to starve yourself at all! You can kill yourself before you start to eat again! What is the point, unless you have a death wish!
