I remember those days. :) They love the freedom of no bars to keep them in. It's a phase and he'll grow out of it.
You can try creating a bedtime ritual every night to get him into the habit of using his bed. A nice warm bath with lavender, brush teeth, read book, go to sleep and if you can keep it the same time every night that will help too. Something simple so life can be more predictable for him (and you) again. :) I hope it helps.

My son went through this. Does it bother him to be on the floor or bother you? My son grew out of it on his own (and sometimes we just moved him back to his bed just to find him on the floor in the morning).
If you have a bedtime ritual and are consistent with it, why force the issue? Just try to get him sleeping in his room if you can.
We also figured out that my oldest is a very active sleeper and switched from a toddler bed to a twin bed (on the floor with no rails it's roughly the height of a toddler bed). He tends to stay in bed a lot longer that way (even all night) and is willing to go to bed in it (napping in it right now actually).
Good luck!

Buy him a sleeping bag and let him sleep on the floor in his room if he wants to.
Then try the stuffed animal routine.
Then talk about all the 'big boys' you know who sleep in their beds at night [ my kids always went for everybody else, if I included the Grandpas, God, the President, and Jesus. ]
Don't let him sleep in your room [ hard to break ], or in the living room - just move to his room if he falls asleep on the couch.

Try taking a few of his stuffed toys and tell him they said they wanted to be tucked into his cool bed, and would he help you tuck them in. Don't try and get him to go, just tuck them into bed. And say, "Gee, I hope they won't get lonely in there by themselves!" Maybe he'll want to go too after a couple of days! Good luck!

Put his mattress on the floor for him, he is probably afraid of falling out of bed
Ultimately is it worth the fight that you probably won't win?
