I am trying to lose weight, and my diet and exercising is going very well. But everyday around 3:00pm I get the urge to snack on anything. I oversnack and go over my calorie limit. Does anyone have any advice?

When you deprive your body this is exactly what happens.
Have a good breakfast (like old fashioned oatmeal with nuts, dried fruit or honey and fruit/berries). Eat every 2-3 hours small meals -it will give your body energy when it needs it and not have any extra left to store in fat reserves. you should be having 5-6 small meals a day.
the more you deprive your body the bigger the binge will be.
All it takes is 3 days to get rid of food addictions -so just go cold turkey without junk food and you will feel much better in 3 days.

It's ok to snack, even on those "not-so-healthy" items.

Try to replace 90% of your snacks with produce. If you want something tangy or salty, try having a salad with a vinagrette dressing and ground black pepper. If you want something sweet, try berries or a peach. Mix it up and have a couple things. The natural fiber in produce will help make you feel full. If you don't feel full right away, eat a little more fruit or veggies and wait an hour. Oh, and drink a big glass of water.

Now, I did say only 90% of your snacks. You can't be good ALL the freakin' time. Otherwise you'll get bored and "over it" and you'll want to binge on a bunch of not good for you foods. So, it's ok to every once in a while have a snack that's not good for you. The key is everything in moderation. Have a bag of chips, one of those little snack sized ones, NOT the 99cent big bags. Those are FOUR SERVINGS! Sometimes more. Have 1 or 2 cookies. I always have half of a serving size. So, if a serving of oreos is 4, I'll only have 2. I can get my sweet tooth satisfied, and still treat myself. And, with the bad snacks, make sure to eat the produce too so you feel full.

If you want to use dips for your veggies, make sure they're the low fat or non fat kinds. Avoid creamy cheeses, sauces, and dressings.

Oh, there's also those new 100 calorie packs. They're more expensive though, and create more pollution due to the extra packaging. I just count out my serving size from the regular bag or box. It takes self control, but you can do it.

Oh, and never eat right out of the bag or box. Always put it on a plate or napkin. It will help you control the amount that you eat. :)

Hey! I do the exact same thing. It's best to eat fruit or drink something before you have snack because fruit will fill you up, and thirst is often mistaken for hunger. I'd suggest you sit down and eat your snack slowly, without multi-tasking or anything, and after get far away from the kitchen and do something like work out (which will inspire you not to eat any more junk!) or clean your room, go for a walk, etc. I hope this helps a little! I know it's hard to overcome, but you can do it!

Have a snack, just make it a healthy one. Maybe a yogurt or some veggie sticks. I really like a caramel flavoured rice cake with peanut butter on it, the rice cakes are only 50 calories each and just put a bit of peanut butter on it.. Try that it is really good. When you have your snack drink a big glass of water with it, it helps fill you up.

You should eat celery! Celery is negative calories because you burn more calories eating in the the actual celery contains. That's what I do and I have continued to lose weight.

seeing how you know that time of day is bad for you plan something to do...put in a work out tape, take a walk, brush your teeth anything that will keep you from food...or....have an apple or veggies with you and eat those..will give your stomach something without over doing it
