I understand what you are saying. Why do people blame God, when the Holy Bible says that every good and perfect gift is from our Father, in heaven. It is God's will that His children prosper and live totally happy lives. It is our own selfishness and imperfections that cause bad things to happen to us. We need to rely on God to help get us out of the bad dilemas that we get ourselves into.

Blaming God is foolishness. God does not make sure I hit every red light when I am in a hurry no more than God makes terrorists fly into buildings.

I am responsible for my own action or inaction. You are responsible for yours. I learned that when I was a toddler - and it is a lesson I learn again every day.

God cannot be blamed for the bad people do to each other and to the Earth. Yet, people do awful things to each other in the name of God. We see it every day - - and I am not talking about planes flying into buildings - - it is so much deeper than that.

Not to pick on the Christians, but........

Christians do this more than they even imagine. How? Do they not see that the way they talk to those who disagree with their faith makes their God appear to be that which He is not?
Everytime someone asks the question: "Do you know you are going to Hell if you don't believe in Jesus?" they ruin their witness for their faith. I know Christians don't believe that, but it is true. If they want to bring others to Jesus, then they need to do so in kindness, not judgement. Yet, when pressed on this issue, they blame God. "That's just what the Bible says!" is the common response. The Bible says lots of things - if they cannot find something a bit more wonderful to share, they are not looking very hard.

Christians blame God even for the tone of the message they feel they need to share. Somehow, I don't think God approves of gaining souls simply because they don't want to go to hell.

We are all the responsible - no matter what our faith or non-faith status. Blaming God for the way you treat others is, quite frankly, the biggest abuse of God.

I don't think people are so inclined to blame God these days since so many don't believe in him, but there are those with a vague belief in the Christian God (and even some with a strong Biblically-based faith) who find it hard to reconcile his love and sovereignty with some of the awful things that happen in the world. The simplistic answer is to blame human sin - but that too is a mystery because God created man 'good' so where did the tendency to rebellion come from? Don't judge people too harshly because they don't understand. There are mysteries within the Christian faith that even Christians cannot fathom - yet.

This is a very basic psychological phenomenon called the "self-serving bias." People often attribute their failures to external events or influences (e.g., bad luck, God, other people) and attribute their successes to their own hard work, intelligence, or competence. It's a way of protecting one's self-esteem.

Interestingly, persons who are depressed tend to show the opposite pattern, wherein they blame themselves for everything wrong and credit temporary circumstances or external influences for their successes.

Personally, I can't blame God for the bad things that are happening in the world because I don't really believe in God. (And if she does exist, I find it unlikely that she would involve herself very much in mortal affairs.)

But I do think that many of the world's problems can be traced to people's own twisted ideas of God - such as the belief that it's okay to pollute the earth all you want because Jesus is coming back any day now to make everything wonderful.

well in my opinion its just human nature.humans by nature are selfish and hence take credit for the good things they do.but to make thamselves feel better, they blame god for the bad.this is just because of a certain sense insecurity that everyone has in them.in a way blaming god gives them a sense that it wasnt their fault and that they arent entirely bad.im sure u do it all the time too.it isnt that this is happening now.its always been there.humans have been like this for ages, and will continue to be there.but of course everyone has different views to everythin and sum do give credit to god for gud too.u never no

OMG! Finally! omeone I can relate to! I mean I'm 13 and a lot of my family and other older people don't think that. When there is something wrong in your life it's probably YOUR fault. And let's face it....life isn't perfect and bad things are gonna happen. That's why it's called life. People who have faith in God know that there's a better place and they work for it and work to know. love. and serve God. I mean look what He's done for us? He sent His only Son to become man and die on the cross so we could be saved! He loves us more than we can know or imagine! God bless! I'm SOOOO happy I saw this! Thank you!

I alway found it to be the other way around. Whenever something good happens people say glory to god! but when something bad happens its because god is punishing us for our sins...Its a two way street

that sure is deep. there are a lot of ignorant people out there and unless they really know God they will never be grateful. all human i suppose are ungrateful but there's always a point in life that one will stop to think and realize that there is a God and thank that him for his wonders.
that's just human nature. ungratefulness. we lack the truth and there fore it'd difficult to speak it,

when something bad happens, people blame god, when something good happens, glory is for men! I agree!!! but when something bad happens and you pray or ask God for help and it all comes out well, you give thanks to God.
