Why are Mustang V6's so slow? I drive an Altima SE-R and I smoke them on a regular basis. Just wondering why they have such a lack of power.

yes, but they weigh about the same, and the Mustang has a 4.0 vs. my 3.5 engine. Once again, why the big difference in performance? The Mustang has RWD, so that should help from a dig.

BTW - I'm not trying to be cocky or anything... If a stupid high school kid pulls up next to me in his V6 Stang and wants to race, I'll race them.

I am trying to compare apples to apples here. V6 vs. V6.

Because anyone who buys a V6 mustang and not a V8 (like its supposed to be) needs to be humiliated any chance possible! So thanks for showing them why they should have bought a real car!

Because people who want a fast mustang buy the V-8. It's kind of like a person asking why 4 cylinder Altima's are slow. They are the non performance version of your car.

Maybe the people driving them aren't concerned with racing you.

Not everyone views the road as a nascar track.

With that said - the v-6 mustang is a much cheaper car than your altima, and is not intended to be raced in the first place. They are heavier than your car, and unless the person who owns it has done some upgrades, your altima will dust it every time.

your altima is making 260 hp
mustang 4.0 making 210hp
