I'm not an expert on Wicca, but my understanding of them, is that they are pagan and that there are two main groups generally speaking. One major group that is into the philosophy of their pagan culture that is intuned to a belief system that is similar to what you might see in a small village tribe, some of India's beliefs are found to be similiar to the "live and let live" philosophy that they seem to have but the other group is what people talk about, which is a darker group that seeks power from within in order to become the strongest in search for power over others, such as, witches, warlocks, etc.

Originally, Wicca was based on a mishmash of Judaic Christian ritual magick and the Spiritual Movement of the 1900's. The original form was Gardnarian Wicca. In the 1980's, Wicca hit head on with the feminist movement, where the male aspect of deity was all but erased. Then came the "Do what you want its all good." Wicca created by the publication of books by people who wanted to make money and editors who knew how to sell instant gratification.
There is a reason for teaching Wicca in a certain way. Wicca is not just a religion but a transformation of your self and your lifestyle. You change the way to see things, think about things and relate to things.
We have more than a religious foundation, we have a philosophical foundation, its just that philosophy does sell books and make make $$$ like "Cast a Spell and get everything you want today!" type books.

Blessed be

You say, "Where is the conformity of union?" as though conformity is a good thing. Perhaps wiccans prefer to do what's right for them, and leave it to others to do the same. Just a guess. I'm an atheist.

Well there are the writings of Gerald Gardner, the founder of the Wiccan religion. But, yes, the Wiccan rede essentially says what you do - "An it harm none, do what ye will."

Now if a person stops and thinks about it, there's a lot you can do that harms others, so the Wiccan Rede, if you put a bit of thought into it, might require at least some work to live up to.

I almost skipped this question. I had no idea what a Wikin was. WICCANS have plenty of foundation, but for the most part, our paths are individual. The basic tenets of our beliefs are respect for self, respect for others, respect for nature, and the golden rule.

First, for future reference it is Wiccan. It depends on the branch of Wicca, whether you are a solitary practitioner or belong to a coven. The different branches of Christianity have some major differences as well. Some believe the Bible is %100 true and other believe that much of it is meant to be a lesson on life (a parable of sorts) We believe in generally the moral code not unlike your different denominations do, we just have different ways of expressing ourselves. Thanks for asking.
HisGloryIsGreat... you are rude and unimaginative. We get called Satan worshippers everyday, try something new. If you don't know about something don't answer. You have no right!

sorry, i really dont mean any disrespect but what goes around comes around

There is only one rule of Wicca, often referred to as the Rede:

"And it harm noone, do what thou wilt."

All Wiccans conform to the belief that it is wrong to harm other people. That's it.

I don't know anything about Wiccans, but why can't anybody do whatever they want and it be OK? (Assuming they are not harming anyone else). Why does one need to conform?
