Terrorism while messy is effective logistically. This country would not exist were it not for the pioneering terroristic tactics of our forefathers

pretty much... i should hope more innocent deaths are avoided though. But the US/UK populations need to get behind or accept that they support the murder and plunder of innocent nations.
I should only hope that instead of attacking them at home, those who are frustrated by US/UK policies join Moqtada Al-Sadr;s peaceful movement against the occupation.
US/UK may be looking for it, but terror is not tactically effective. Massive protests are. I would suggest anyone thinking of attacking the US monster, give it up.
The best thing to do is to form peaceful coalitions to oppose the Nazis on penn ave and downing st.
WE CAN BEAT THEM WITH PEACE!!!

Terrorism is never justified; and you're forgetting that the years of sporadic and increasingly violent attacks against the West were largely unprovoked. You cannot equate a military operation with underhanded terror tactics; the military neither condones nor practices any form of suicide bombings nor does the military deliberately target civilians; Islamic terrorists do. You'd have to have a pretty skewed set of values to think that the methods employed by Al Qaeda and their ilk are ever "justified".
Also, if you're basing your decisions about what Al Qaeda and their ilk are really like from what you see on TV or what opinions you read on the internet, you're woefully uninformed, and are being misled. Neither Israel, the UK, nor the US deliberately target schools or crowded marketplaces for some fanatical ideal that it will earn them God's favor. Islamic terrorists do that. Israel, the UK, and the US do not routinely kidnap innocent people, and tape their brutal decapitation and dismemberment and brag about it by posting it on the internet. The military reactions of those three countries are and have always been, by and large, reactionary... only in the last few years have a few leaders realized that they have to actively and aggressively seek these people out where they hide, train, and operate from if they have any chance of stopping this. Negotiation is something that may work with more moderate groups, possibly; but you cannot reason with an ideology that vilifies everything about you and glorifies everything about annihilating you. I speak from experience.
In an added note, you're confusing "terrorist tactics" with "guerrilla warfare", as adopted by elements of the Continental Army in the latter stages of the Revolutionary War. It was hardly common practice for the colonials to strap gunpowder to their bodies and blow themselves up in a crowded marketplace of their own countrymen, much less in the middle of the Redcoat ranks. They also weren't prone to sneaking around back in England and crashing horsecarts full of gunpowder into Parliament. Throwing tea overboard off of a ship hardly counts as "terrorism". True guerrilla warfare and indiscriminate terrorism are very different things... read up some more on your history.

I wouldn't say "justified", because terrorism does not address those problems in any meaningful way, but US/UK/Israel actions certainly inflame the situation.
However, since a portion of the terrorism is directed at targets other than Judeo-Christian, sometimes even rival Muslim sects, the existence of Islamic terrorism can not be explained so simply.

No. Over 7000 years ago, Zargon the Great of Mesopotamia established the first know Professional Army. And the Region has been kicking eachothers a** ever since. They invaded Greece well before Christ and before there was Islam.
And their philosophy has not changed over the last 7000 years.

When people try to force their religious beliefs on others, or believe that their religion is the only one that is right, we get what we have now: religious warfare. And neither side is right. I just hope that they all take a step back and look at their children before it gets too much further out of control.

I think that their frustration is justified, but there terrorist actions are atrocious. As are our state/terror actions which are magnitude in scale worse. In addition, as a tactic, it seems that terrorism is counterproductive to addressing grievances which may very well be legitimate........

Terrorism in any form cannot be justified? Any people, state, or religion that would randomly kill other people can never be justified by anybody for any reason. Period!!
