Oooh! You know how to start an argument, don't you?

In both cases, it's a custard (eggs & milk) soaked into bread and then heated to firmness.

Who invented it? When? Where? Yow! I would hazard a guess that this particular combination goes back nearly as far as the first folk who ground grains and baked bread!

Sumerians? Pre-Egyptians, certainly.... hmmmm....
