......Using "god doesn't exist so your entire question is flawed" as an answer? It pisses me off. Thats just as bad as Christians saying "because it sys so in the bible. Fellow atheists, can't you please answer with some substance?

Your question doesn't exist so I can't answer it.

the sad thing about your question is thats how christians do answer their questions. either by saying the bible says so or quoting something from the bible which was not written by god and has changed over the years and is not a valid arguement. when a christian can prove something without reference to a bible or something said in a church then athiest will start proving themselves with something other then saying god doesnt exist. and since there is no concrete evidance that god does or doesnt exist, nobody can make a vaild arguement or give an answer with substance. your getting tired of atheists just shows a lack of faith in your religion. if you were confident with your beliefs they wouldnt be about to get to you like that because you would know deep in your heart your beliefs are true.

Well, some people just want the easy two points. But the thing to always keep in mind is where the burden of proof lies. It always lies with those trying to prove that something exists.

All arguments, ideas, concepts that are predicated on the existence of God are no stronger than the fundamental assumption that God exists. If you cannot convince your audience that God exists, then any other concept derived from the existence of God fails automatically.

I will be glad to answer any question in detail.

I just don't like the absolutists. The person who's 100% convinced that God doesn't exist and everything in the science books is proven fact is not a lot different than the person who thinks God wrote the Bible so anything in it is not subject to question or doubt and we can know what God is thinking because we read the Bible. They are both people who think in terms of absolutes and blindly accept things without scrutiny. It is actually child-like thinking. This is a property of how their minds work and whatever creed they choose they will display these characteristics.

I think it's a bit irritating if I have a serious doctrinal question addressed towards fellow Christians that has nothing to do with the existence of God yet they feel compelled to butt in and give their two cents.

Then again, I answer questions directed towards atheists all the time, so I can't fault them.

NO, I don't. This is the same as people saying that ALL Christians proselytize.

I am a Christian, and I would suggest that most of the people who do this are teenagers playing around. They're just immature.
Most of the atheists here are very nice people who truly want to accept us and respect us (I hope.)
I think because they are so into Science and logic that "faith" is something they have a hard time comprehending.

They liven up the place, to be honest.
They make me really think about my faith, and I can see their point. It doesn't change me, but I understand what they are saying.

Point well taken. I haven't said such a statement in a while, but it's a good parallel. I'll try to ensure the substance of the answer matches the integrity of the question.

Honestly, I think the atheists are wasting their time here, they waste everyones time. Spending hours in chat or Yahoo Answers about how they dont believe is worthless information. And they often have to add cussing as if they cant talk without obscenities. They need to go to something away from religion instead of being zombies in the religion rooms. Go watch a movie, go to an amusement park, go surfing, hiking or whatever.

When I've finished laughing at religionists' questions I do usually try to provide some substance unless the question is particularly inane but stupid questions really do deserve stupid answers sometimes

Sorry 'bout that - but why get caught up in answering, for example, some silly question about what some ancient drivel-writers said 2000 years ago - or what drivel-believers think it means today?

There is no other rational response to questions like "Does god approve of ___ or not?"

Actually, this is a reasonable answer to questions that start from the assumed premise that gods exist.

For example: "Why do you hate God?" implies that there is a god to hate, just like "The current king of France is bald" implies there is a current king of France.
