Nope. There are very few zoonotic (transferable from animal to human) diseases anyway and the ones that a dog might carry would not be transferable through water - especially chemically treated water like what's in a pool. And, as an aside it's not Lakes and oceans that don't want dogs...it's the beaches (because of feces) and most lakes are man made and closed and the waste in the grasses and beaches is why you can't bring your dog. In almost every beach in america there is an area where you can take your dog to swim where people who are not dog friendly do not have to be bothered or worry about the waste. It has nothing to do with the dog in the water, the water is all the same and if my dog is in the west end of the water and your in the east end, you guys are still in the same water. It's the land surrounding the water that causes the concern. You should check with your apartment complex before you let him in the pool though...they might object to it on principle.

Probably not unless he has some disease transmittable to humans. More of an issue is the effect the chlorine will have on him. Also an issue is the dog hair in the filter. I've had a lot of Samoyeds who love to swim, but in an apartment pool the floating fur would be bad.

No. Dogs don't carry too many things that can be transferred to humans in a pool with chlorine, anyway. Even if he peed in the water by accident, it is no different than someones baby doing the same thing. Let your dog enjoy the pool.

I'd just be afriad for the dog and for myself. When I say myself I mean that I wouldn't wanna get kicked out of the apartment complex for putting my dog in the pool.

If it has fleas, the chlorine might take care of those suckers, but it also may irritate your dogs eyes. plus, if he has worms, the worms can crawl out and infest humans. I would say get him a baby pool and let him swim in tht.

I do not believe there is anything that a dog could have that chlorine would not kill. Unless they go to the bathroom in the water I think its pretty safe.

Nope, those suckers are so full of chlorine it'll kill anything. And frankly, I'd be more worried about catching something from the other PEOPLE using the pool.
The hair might clog the filters, though.
I'd worry about the dog in all that chlorine.

Even if the pool is chloronated it is still unsanitary. Even at ocean and lake beaches dogs are not allowed. It's probably not good for it anyway, with all the chemicals in the water and such.
