Do you think that nuclear war is inevitable, and if so, will anything survive?

OOPS! I meant will ANYONE survive! Im sure cockroaches will, and radiation has been tested on them before, I read the Oppenheimer papers...........

Nuclear war is not the worst thing that can happen, and will surely not happen, because of the same reason.
Some countries will be nuke to increase casualities, but the third world war is coming and a new kinds of warfare will appear. Newer weapons like the Elipton, EMP`s, and other biological weapons will be used. The US was working on the Excalibur project in the 80`s, some says that it was cancelled after having spent 25billions on it, as far as I am concern, this project has given birth to other discoveries and other weapons, and we should hear about them pretty soon, I am quite sure of it!

Inevitable? No, it's not inevitable. However if there is an all out nuclear war, mankind can just put it's heads between it's legs and kiss it's backside goodbye along with most of the other critters on the planet.

Who knows maybe Smoothie is right. Cockroaches have survived since the time of the dinosaurs. When I was in the Navy we once put a cockroach in a chamber we tested altimiters and took it up to 150K feet (simulated) in under a minute. You and I would have been unconscious above 18K in a very short time and dead shortly there after. The cockroaches were moving slow but still moving. We left them there for over an hour, dumped the valve, and brought them down to sea level in less than a second. When we opened the door to the chamber they scampered out. Nuclear radiation might have had a different effect. But we had no way of trying that experiment.

OBTW Yes we did have too much time on our hands.

Nuclear war is going to happen! It is just a matter of time. 1/3 of all living things will be immediately destroyed. the lingering effects will last for decades. Maybe the survivors will finally make a pack to never have war again! Else-wise the whole world will go up in flames!

I definitely think of that have been in a diploma of conflict thats fairly equivalent to the chilly conflict we had years in the past, purely distinction is that Its surely a conflict have been we are surely killing one yet another no real reason. Don't worry about nuclear war the missles can be detected and destroyed before they hit anything but Biological agents such as VX gas are the attacks we have to consider others include ebolia smallpox etc...

it is just possible that we will avoid nuclear war if we get a decent person in the white house but if one nuke gets shot off the world is toast. they are at my last recollection enough nukes to destroy the world 26 times or something like that so i hope we dont get one started

I don't think it is inevitable, but a think it is likely that there will be an exchange of some kind after either Iran , or a terrorist group gets their hands on nukes.
