I can't recognise faces at all. If someone drasticly changes their hairstyle, I have almost no idea who they are. It is esspecially hard to follow films, I always get the characters mixed up. I'm even worse with photos. I don't wear glasses. I have no other problems with eyesight.

That sounds like a facial recognition problem. Not a lot of people have it, but the numbers are probably higher than the statistics show, since most of the people who have it won't report it or won't know that something is wrong with them.

You can learn to compensate for this though. You might have to memorize some of the features (like haircuts, clothing style, or distinct facial features) about people so that you won't make as many mistakes with identifying people.

I doubt it is a brain tumor like the person above me suggests. I think you would be having other problems like bad headaches. Maybe you should at least go talk to a doctor about this problem just to make sure there is nothing else, but it is probably just a recognition problem.

discover a regional opthomologist. Trust me, flashes, lack of eyesight are 2 principal questions we needed to ask while I labored entrance table at an opthomologist workplace. I recognize scientific fees may also be rough. Our medical professionals allow a few of their sufferers do economic preparations wherein they would make per month repayments. You do not have got to have imaginative and prescient coverage to look an opthomologist for the reason that they're scientific medical professionals and deal with eye illnesses, they take scientific coverage. Flashes don't seem to be simply whatever to take flippantly. Especially how extreme yours was once. Call an opthomologist and speak with a technician. They'll assist you to recognize what precisely you ought to do and whether they suppose its an emergency that you simply ought to see any individual now. You best have one pair of eyes. Take care of them.

That is not eyesight -- that is perception. For some reason, your mind is not interpreting information clearly for you where faces are involved. I have a similar problem -- if 2 characters in a movie have blond long hair, I have trouble telling them apart. It is very frustrating. You might be able to start working to train yourself to focus on things like eye placement, lip shapes, etc. to make it easier for you.

I don't mean to offend you or anything at all, but you may have some kind of mental disorder regarding facial recognition. Do you have trouble recognizing emotions on people's faces? Or do you have a poor photographic memory? At worst it could be a brain tumour (please try not to worry, it's highly unlikely), at best it could be a dodgy memory. I think it might be a mental condition, but to be safe, mention this to your doctor on your next appointment, and see if they think you should see a psychiatrist. Good luck!
