Why can't he be simply the king? What does it change if he is not God. YHWH said from the beginning that there is only one God. Never one God, three persons in that God. Only one.

Make man in our image. Sure that means there were more than one present but does not mean that God is three persons. Jesus could have very well been present but how does that prove the trinity?

If Jesus was merely a man, then a human being did something wonderful for us in offering himself in our place on the cross. What one human can accomplish is relatively insignificant.
However if Jesus was the eternal Son of God, the co-Creator of the universe as the Bible plainly teaches, then it tells us something awesome and wonderful about the Supreme Power over the Universe - that He cared enough about us to secure our eternal welfare and great personal expense and suffering.
If He is the God of Creation, as I believe He is,
then we can be quite secure for all eternity under His Divine care.
The fact that Jesus is God makes all the difference in the world.

"Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood."

GOD HAS 3 PARTS TO HIM
IT IS SIMPLE WHY CAN YOU NOT SEE THIS
JESUS IS GOD IN THE FLESH
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
The same was in the beginning with God. All
Things were made by him; and without him was not anything made
that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of
men. And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not.
(John 1:1-5)

How does it disprove the Trinity? Really, your logic does not make any sense. There is a lot of proof of the Trinity in the bible. Jesus said He was with the Father in the beginning. He said Him and the Father were one. He said if you have seen me you have seen the Father. And it goes on and on.

It changes everything. If a man calls himself God, and he is not, what does that make him? A liar. Jesus certainly called himself God. The entire scripture points to Jesus. So, he better be what he claimed otherwise, eat, drink and be merry.

In response to the text quoted by answerer J.P.

The key word "one" (Hebrew, achad) is often used to denote unity in diversity. For example, when Eve was united to Adam in marriage, they were said to be "one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). Similarly, on the third day of creation, the waters were "gathered together unto one place," yet this gathering together was called "Seas" (i.e., more than one sea; Genesis 1:9-10).

Similarly man was created in the image of God as: Soul,Spirit,Body,...three manifestations of one being.

Soul...Mind,Will,Emotion
Spirit...Spiritual heart,the real you
Body...Flesh,bone,blood.

Jesus, himself claimed to be God.. "Before Abraham, sprang into existence,I AM,(the eternal God)..."I and the Father are one", "He that has seen me has seen the Father" " Have I been with you all this time and you do not recognize me"..(these are a few off the top of my head, worthy of consideration)...

The Jews knew exactly what Jesus was stating when he envoked the name of "I AM"....they picked up stones to kill him,and stated...for a good work we do not stone you,but beacuse you, being a man, make yourself to be God (Possibly not an exact quote, but close)

Hebrews 1:6 reads, "And again, when He bringeth in the Firstbegotten into the world, He saith, And let all the angels of God WORSHIP Him."(JESUS) Yet,we are to worship God alone.

Although He existed in the form of God, [He] did not regard EQUALITY with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bondservant, and being made in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Crimson, you do realize I was pointing out that the Trinity is FALSE, right?

Father K:

The Royal We is also a first person composite which is used by an individual. As such, the point of 'echod' being composite singular does not, of necessity, support Trinitarian doctrine.

Yeah, but if you read it closely all three of them are mentioned in the beginning..... Father, son ,holy spirit... So what would that mean to you? One of Jesus names is Emanuel which means (God with us) there are other names that would also suggest the same thing.....

1) Wrong. In the beginning, God said "Let us make man in our image".... Who(m) was He speaking to?

2) Look again at the S'hema quoted by JP. The Hebrew "echod" (translated as "one") is NOT a singular, numeric "one" - but a "composite unity".

That concept doesn't change the gospel because Jesus never said he was God.
