I have a horse show coming up and I have been messing around with my hair but I can't get it to fit under my cowboy hat. I really don't want to cut my hair unless I have to. Whenever I put the hat on with out trying to get my hair under it, it fits perfectly fine but when I try to french braid it and then pin the end up to keep it under the hat and from showing, there is never enough room. Any suggestions?? (Because I don't want to buy a new hat unless I have to because the one I have is really cool and unique.)

pull it back into a low ponytail and curl the ends so it looks very classy. lots of hairspray. thats how they do it at Congress and big shows. or low ponytail bun or lowponytail then braid the rest of whats hanging. i like the curling idea.

I saw a girl who put her hair in a pony tail and cut a hole in the back of a cowboy hat for the pony tail to stick out. It looked very nice and the hat fit well.

Rather than destroying a hat, consider doing a bun, with the bun high onyour head. The bun would rest under the crown of the hat and be unseen.

Well being 100% honest here, I have seen the bobby pin trick and yes it is really painful. I have also seen people use duck tape, that works ok, and i dont know if it hurts a ton, i havent ever tryed it. A hat with a string is probley the best thing, or something like that. But to make sure it wont come off you might wanna do more. Good luck in the NBHA next year. Oh and before you race with one of these try it at home in normal weather and run the pattern. Then try it in windy weather. Just to make sure that it will stay on.

Put it in two side braids. This will look attractive and keep your hair out of the way.
