My boyfriend has a tiny piece of tooth still stuck in his gum from 2 years ago when he got a hole in his tooth and then broke the tooth and ripped what he thought was the rest of it out. Can this cause an infection which will lead to death? Again, it's been there for 2 years and it doesn't hurt him at all. He doesn't have a fever or any signs of infection. It does bleed often though.

If this is a permanent tooth that cracked and broke, he probably still have rotten roots under the gums (there is no way you can pull out those roots on your own).

Anytime you have rotten teeth, it's a bad thing. The rotten pieces serve as reservoirs for germs to hide in, and it is a chronic infection. Have him go to a dentist and get those rotten roots taken out, because they do have the potential to cause real serious problems down the line.

odds of Infection would not be high, unless he has an open wound and does not keep it clean. Two years later I doubt that there is any real problem, however I'd keep an eye on it in case it becomes a problem on down the line. Watch for swelling or a 'blister' like formation on the surface of the gum which would signal an impacted (inner) infection.

Personally I have never fed nor will I ever feed my dogs rawhides. There is too much of a risk of choking with my dogs. My dogs could choke on anything. I know plenty of people who have lost dogs to choking, even on just a piece of dog food that was small. People have lost dogs to a piece of chicken or hot dog that was too big. These dogs are very small and I don't risk my dogs lives. I am feeding my dogs the new wellness core grain free dog food and the size of the bites are too large. I am concerned about my dogs choking. The food is a strange shape and too large.

HELLO,
WILL THIS CAUSE DEATH?
VERY UNLIKELY.
IS THE BLEEDING A CAUSE FOR CONCERN?>
YES.
WHY?
BLEEDING IN THE MOUTH IS NEVER A NORMAL THING.
HAVE YOUR BF SEE A DENTIST AND FINALLY TAKE OUT THE PIECE OF TOOTH AND STOP THE BLEEDING.
