Hypoglycemia means not enough glucose. Hyperglycemia means too much glucose.

Diabetics can have either condition at varying times and both are dangerous for different reasons.

Somebody who isn't a diabetic usually doesn't have either of these problems, their glucose levels don't go to extremes.
