Neosporin or Triaseptic I would think to prevent infection. When I used to row a lot I used "Skin Shield" which would put a coat over the sore and allow me to continue to compete. But putting that stuff on...Ouch! It stings a little. Don't hold the bottle in your hand when you brush it on or you will throw it all over the place when you wince...that's what I did.

Even though it sounds gross...you have to pop your blister with a sterile needle or pin. If you don't it will just hurt you more. Neosporin is the best...it helps heal and has a bacteria fighter in it. Aloe vera isn't really all that great...that's more for helping a sunburn. Before you put your shoes on, use moleskin and a band aid. Then make sure you wear proper socks that go over it.

I found a site about friction-blister first aid. Normally I tell people to leave them totally alone, don't break them, clean them up and cover them with a band-aid. In your case you will be rubbing the blister over and over again at camp so you want to take a few more steps.

Something the site doesn't mention is a trick I learned in the Army. Go someplace where they sell foot care stuff like Dr. Scholls and look for a product called moleskin. This is a self-adhesive product used to deal with blisters. Take a piece of it, cut a hole out of it large enough to go around your blister, and then put the moleskin on your foot. You want to position it so the hole goes around the blister. You can then put a bandaid over all of that and it'll keep your shoe from rubbing the blister skin. Otherwise you're gonna be hurting because just a bandaid by itself won't protect you from rubbing, since it will be rubbed off itself. Good luck.

well not aloe vera . neosporin heals wounds fast. you should also wrap it up when you play so it does not rub on your shoe so much. make sure when you wrap it up you put on the neosporin. you should use the non sitck pads and put the neosporin on it thick. then wrap the pad to your foot with the gauze. owch that hurts. wish you best and hope your team wins. take care of that blister.

I agree do both. However if you are going to be playing lots of V Ball next week get some mole skin too. It won't heal if it is always being rubbed. The mole skin will add a layer of tough protection for your blister. Change it regularly.

Have fun at camp.

Hello 'beautiful_disaster12' :
A blister simply needs air to help it dry up.
Don't cover it with anything greasy.
Time will heal it.
If anything, dunk it in cold water.
I would hold off the volleyball playing, but, if you don't, then protect that blister with a lot of gauze padding and band-aids.

Aloe is for burns. Use Neo or another blister medicine. Go and get moleskin at the drugstore to put over the blister. Or ask the pahrmasist at the drugstore what to do.

sterilize a needle with alcohol and drain the blister.experts say not to do this but i find it speeds up the healing. put on neosporin and cover with a thick bandaid ,and always wear socks. keep covered until it has healed ,hope this helps.
