this has been happening everyday all day for the past month when I spit in the shower or sink my saliva has blood in it and It's always light red. If I keep spitting it clears up but if I spit a half hour later it comes back. During the day I could taste the blood in my mouth. I didn't get any teeth taken out nor I have any cuts in my mouth or anything like that. The only thing I could think of is when I brush my teeth with a soft toothbrush my gums will bleed a little bit but it only bleeds on one side.

Are you talking about blood tinged spit, or sputum? If you find your spit is blood tinged, it's probably coming from your mouth. That is often the result of bleeding gums due to poor hygiene. Often people brush their front teeth well, but neglect their back teeth (which are harder to get to). They look at their front teeth and gums and don't see the redness and swelling of the gingivitis starting in the back of their mouths. It takes very little for inflamed gums to bleed. Something as simple as eating, the suction produced when drinking through a straw, or drawing on a cigarette can start them bleeding. If you're talking about blood in your sputum (phlegm brought up when you cough), that can be much more serious. You should see a doctor ASAP. Blood in sputum is often the first sign of tuberculosis. A serious, contagious, lung infection. Figure out whether the blood is in your spit or sputum. Then make an appointment with a dentist, or doctor ASAP. Both conditions need to be treated quickly, before they progress.

I had this. I had an extra big space in between two back teeth that I couldn't see and food was getting caught in it causing bleeding. Are you using any nasal sprays? If so, it might be the reason for throat irritation and bleeding.

you might have peridontal disease. make an appointment with your dentist and have them check your gums.

if there is nothing wrong with your gums it could be something internal. perhaps a bleeding ulser. if that is the case you will need an antibiotic for H-Pilori.

either way a dentist would be a good start.

it sounds like ur gums are severly irritated or you have some gingivitis. you may be brushing to hard. even if you are using a soft toothbrush you could still be brushing to hard. also sometimes flossing can help because if ur gums are red and inflamed ie gingivitis it can cause them to bleed. try brushing with warm water or gargling with some warm salt water and def. have ur dentist check it out....

Go to your dentist and get it checked out. You could have a gum infection, or gingavitis

You need to see a dentist first and then if they don't know what it is you need to see a doctor. It could just be sensitive gums.

HELLO,
THE GUMS BLEEDING CAN BE CAUSED BY SEVERAL THINGS.
IT IS PRUDENT TO SEE A DENTIST TO RULE OUT A DENTAL CAUSE FOR THE BLEEDING.
AFTERWARD A PHYSICIAN SHOULD BE SOUGHT IF THERE IS NO DENTAL REASON FOR THE BLEEDING.
