I'm not addicted. I come here because I enjoy helping people and getting answers on things I don't know much about.
I ignore the obnoxious rants and questions and have fun reading what some people say. It's a forum. It's kind of like "sitting in the corner" in a chat room and watching with the occasional input.
I can choose to participate or just watch.

Maybe. I will admit that this is the only site I visit with any regularity. I believe it is because there are people here who are as far off the scale one way as I am the other. Here, one is allowed to say "hey, you are so far off the beam it ain't funny" and "you have no idea what you are talking about and here is why" and 99% of the persons on this site don't pay it any mind. Try saying what you really think and/or believe on some other site and see what it gets you.

So do you spend time here instead of doing things you should be doing? ... I come here to help me with a class I am taking and learn. I answer questions because I feel obligated to since I am asking them too ! You have 2 kids are they doing what while you are passing time? No judgment, I just wondered as I have two children too and I feel terrible guilt for spending time on line even when I'm working.

I am addicted to looking at you. I actually wait 24 hours a day 7 days a week just to glance at your beauty in the hopes that when I die I will remember your face as the last thing I see on this planet. That way when I get to heaven I can ask for a personal angel that looks just like you.

Don't know why but i am very addicted...lol. It helps me pass time during work while i wait for the test team to test my software. Also helps break up the monotonous work. I like to see what insight people provide and sometimes the questions and answers are great for a good laugh.

when things get slow at work I come on and answer a few questions to help pass the time...

I wish there was a way I could make money on Yahoo Answers... geez... instead of points, can they give us cash???
However, a word of caution - to avoid those "haters" - remember that sarcasm doesn't always translate very well via the internet.... but yeah, it is fun to dive into the deep end of the pool sometimes..... and even more fun to confuse those in the shallow end.... (grin). I feel ya sister!

Yeah, it does pass time. I was bored out of my mind at work (we get really slow in the summer when I don't have regular classes) and was googling ways to relieve sinus congestion when low and behold: Yahoo Answers! If that's not divine intervention, I don't know what is.
