My girlfriend is upset with me because I'm going away with the guys to go camping in two weeks. It's my best friend's birthday he's turning 21 so we are headed up to Maine to go camping We are going from the 18th of July - 24th of July.
My girlfriend is upset with me because she planned a trip with her and a bunch of her friends for the 25th-29th of July! She wants me to come and I'm still most likely going to be with my friends.
I'm most likely staying until the 26th, 27th, or 28th and possibly even longer then that!
She's very upset with all of this because she's leaving for a summer class for college August 1st and she wanted to spend time with me before she left for the summer...
Am I being selfish?

She had "mentioned it" to me a few times. She never gave me a set date but she had said sometime at the end of July. She told me about the trip about 2 - 3 weeks ago and I wasn't 100% sure at that time if I would be going with the guys or not. I told her there was a possibility I wouldn't be around.

While I understand that spending time with your guys is important, if you love your girl, you need to go on the trip with her too, since she is going away for school. I think the week should suffice for guy time anyway. Why would you not want to go on a trip with your girl?

To be fair, yes go with your friends for a few days but come back and then go with your girlfriend. It's selfish if you spend extra days with your friends especially as you know she will be away in college after that. You can spend time with your friends anytime but at least spend time with your girlfriend before you lose her as I am sure she is going to get fed up being treated second best to your friends.

Well, insofar as selfishness is concerned it's about the timing.
Did EITHER of you discuss vacation/trip plans in advance? Did you agree to go with her at first - make plans, reservations, hotel accommodations, etc. - and then at the last minute decide to go with the guys? If so, then you're being selfish.
If she just assumed you'd be at her beck and call, and do as she bid you - then she's being selfish.
Or if neither of you discussed these things in advance etc. then neither of you is really "at fault" it was a misunderstanding.
However, given all of this hoopla, I would suggest you break up with this girl as kind of controlling - besides you're in college and need to think of your studies, your careers and your future plans - not worry about some silly vacation.

Both of you should have planned better and communicated those plans to one another. I don't think she should be mad, you are both entitled to take trips and have fun with your friends. You're only young once.....live it up!! If it bothers you this much, then go on your tirp cut it short to be with her. Personally, I'd just go your own trips and have fun!! See each other another time. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be this time. Good luck!!

Its summer - every girl wants to spend time with her man. Shes upset because shes going to miss you. You should try to find time to be with her. Maybe come back early to spend time with her.

It sounds liek she doesn'y mean enough to you. My boyfriend thinks the world of me and he hates that i revolve my life around him, but it's just something girls do. no matter what she'll be upset. Better kiss her *** .

if u stay till the 26 then go to wherever she is.
