Into story: I remember in my world history class (long long ago) My teacher asked the class to name the religions in jerusalem.
One girl said, "Um christians, Moslems, and uh Catholic people." Everyone in the class was nodding as if she answered right.
Teacher told everyone it was Christian, Jews and Muslems and everyone was shocked. (how can they forget judism?)
Teacher also said that the christians there were catholics.
All hell broke lose as my classmates were in doubt, anger and fear.
Mainly here in the US, christians take catholics as an insult and don't consider it as part of Christianity. EVEN THOUGH, there are more christians in the world that ARE catholics.
Question(s):
Our culture has made catholics into a religion itself?
Did you know that catholics are part of Christianity?
Don't you hate it when people make fun of catholics they think of lil boys being molested?
Don't you think its funny when mormons make woman get naked as part of their rituals?

People confuse the word "religion" with the word "denomination." Catholics are a Christian denomination as are Lutherans, Methodists, Baptists, Church of Christ, etc.

Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Judaism, Islam, etc. are separate religions.

Yes I've noticed with some surprise that even on this forum where one would expect a bit of intelligence on the subject that people talk of christians and catholics as if they were seperate.
I wonder if the realise that JFK was a catholic from a catholic family?
In the UK it is still frowned upon for a senior member of the royal family to marry with catholic rites, and illegal for the heir to the thrown to do so.
Funnily enough the first marriage, since the reformation about 500 years ago, of a royal family member, with catholic rites is just about to take place, and a lot of people are not at all pleased about that.

"Our culture has made catholics into a religion itself?"

The Catholic Church is an organized religion, and it's not something our culture "did to it". It has been since it was organized.

"Did you know that catholics are part of Christianity?"

Of course they are part of Christianity. A Christian is someone who believes the Jesus Christ is our Savior and seeks to live his teachings.

"Don't you hate it when people make fun of catholics they think of lil boys being molested?"

This is one of the hardest things about being a part of any religion, that people have misconceptions and they are hurtful and ignorant.

"Don't you think its funny when mormons make woman get naked as part of their rituals?"

Did you know Mormons have horns on their heads and eat their young? This is just silly. You have to use your head and realize this just isn't true. I've been in every "ritual" or ordinance in the temple, and I can guarantee you this isn't part of any of it.

What you are talking about has nothing to do with Evangelicals...what you refer to is denomination. These denominations are all protestants. They all believe that Christ is the only way to heaven. Though, they all have some varying degrees of separation between them. Baptists tend to take the bible the most literally of the group. Pentecostals believe, among other things, that speaking in tongues is a way of worship. baptists would agree that the event happened, however They would say that it was a phenomena that occurs in the rarest of circumstances. Another difference is the idea of once saved always saved that these denominations agree to disagree on.

Anyone that makes a religion out of the Bible's message, and follows the messenger instead of the message, is a Christian.

The Roman Catholic(RC) teaching is NOT in accourd with the teaching of Jesus The Christ... The RC's are NOT taught The Truth of The Salvation Message... the list of "errors" in teaching within the RC cult is long ...

There are some, not many, but some, within the RCs who have received God's free gift of Salvation and are, infact, True Christians. But, they did not come to God through RC teaching... they have found The Way outside of the teaching and "tradition" of The RCs... A priest of the RCs is forbidden to give The Truth of the assurance of Salvation... and even the pope himself can not say for certain that he is going to get into Heaven( he is notgoing to)... But... any one of The True Christian Faith knows, with absolute certainty, that their place in Heaven is secure and can not be lost.

Reference to your aqusation that Mormons cause their women to particapate in cermonies unclothed, YOU ARE SADLY MISINFORMED, or suffering from very poor research. I am thinking you are repeating old tales which have moved among society since nearly the time of "ADAM and EVE!!

It is not so!
