How are you so sure that your God is the only God and all others are wrong? Is it because someone else told you so? Seriously, is that the only way you know? What if that person were wrong? Do you have any other reason besides "My mommy and daddy told me so..."

I understand this isn't just a Christian issue, however, I am directing this question specifically to Christians, due to there condescending and patronizing attitude toward other beliefs.

I don't logically believe that there can be a right or wrong God. God is. We call him different names, but everyone from Christian to Muslim to Jew (who all worship the exact same historical God "The God Of Abraham") and Hindu or Native American Religion seek the very same God in prayer and contemplation. In terms of my mommy and daddy, they did teach me their values and beliefs, and when I was old enough to decide how I felt, I had my own values and beliefs.
God is.
To claim to have your own "special" god, is to deny the God of all Creation billions of people know.
Your question seems to address.....How do I know how I see God is the right way to see God.
My answer. Since I'm not God. I Don't. And that's just fine with me because I believe he is a loving God, and it will be OK.

Why does everyone hate Christians? We're not all the same. There are some of us who have open minds, we're not all sheep following blinding to the slaughter. This is one belief of a lot of other beliefs that Christians have. I do recognize and agree with the beliefs of other religious followings (i.e. Islam and Allah, and even those without one God they follow or believe in). It's just faith. I'm not on some campaign to make others conform and believe what i believe (most of the time it's Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses that come to my house for that reason). As One Hot Momma says, it's faith. Go to church and think about what faith is and about your beliefs. Being a part of that community has not only strengthened my beliefs as a Catholic, but also strengthened my morals, and my beliefs as a person. Don't hate on people because of their religious choices, especially if they're not trying to push their beliefs on you. Also, don't talk about my mommy. They gave me the choice to be a Catholic or Lutheran or an atheist. Get over it.

I believe because I have a personal relationship with God because of Jesus. I believe in the Bible. No one told me to do so. No one pressures me to do so. Do you have relationships? How do you explain your relationships and the feelings and emotions that go on in that relationship? That is how it is with God. You just know that He is who he says he is. He says "I AM THAT I AM"
He is and always has been. Can I prove it? No. Do I believe it to be true. Yes. I rarely paste scripture, however, due to your question I feel it is necessary.
Isaiah 46:9-10 'I am God, and there is no other. I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand and I will do all that I please.'
John 14:6-7 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well.
Acts 4:12 'And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name (Jesus) under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.'
1 John 5:11-12 'And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son (Jesus) has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.'

My God came down to this earth to mingle with and die for His people. Jesus performed miracles and then was raised from the dead. What other God do you hear about suffering for His people? Paul started writing letters to the churches about the resurrection just 5 years after the event. I also have a personal relationship with my God so I know He's real. By the way, my mommy and daddy didn't have anything to do with it. They did not become believers until after I did.

I read, and I make up my own mind. I don't go on something just because "someone told me to". I also believe that we are ALL right, to a certain extent. I believe there is one God, one and only. But since man had different languages and different cultures, different beliefs about Him were formed. I call Him God, you might call Him Jehovah, or something else. But I still believe we worship the same God.

I know because God has spoken directly to my heart, after I accepted Christ- I know that God is the only God- can I ask you what proof you have that there are more than one. If you are right, then I have lost nothing- if you are wrong- you lost everything. If I am wrong, and Christ did not die from my sins, my eternity will be in a grave- if you are wrong- you will be in hell. I know that this is going to get some comments, like why are you judging? Well you just did too,

There are actual artifacts of Jesus dwelling in the world. Where he was born, performed miracles, and died, and others who are in the bible. He is the only Savior that has rose from the died and there is proof, no other religion has claimed that there Savior rose from the dead and lives. Jesus lives now as a spirit and I feel his presence everyday, the world would be intolerably if we didn't have God's presence, forgiveness, and love. That's why I wouldn't serve or believe in anything else I know my God is real.

If all one is basing their claim to being a "Christian" on is the word of "mommy and daddy", or the teaching of any man, then they are not of The True Christian Faith.
The Faith of The True Christian is based on personal knowledge of God.... Faith not based on Fact is fantacy... For those of The True Christian Faith God is Fact... because we know God we have Faith that his instruction is true... and we willingly follow Him.... As best we can.

My birth parents told me nothing about God. Even though I knew and went to church.
I didnt even become one till i was 23. my foster mother ( God rest her soul)guided me in that direction ...And she didnt force me..She showed me..and lived by exampleas best as she could
Lets just say..if ppl kept " telling" me how great God was and stuff and kept shoving a bible in my face I most likely would not be a christian...I want too see a person living the life of christianity...not living a life of sin and then telling me to stop sinning.
I do understand why most atheists do not beleive in God. I mean how could they when so many Christians do not live by the example of what they preach?
But some...a very rare few try very hard to live by the example they preach. Though beleive me it is hard.
I was just one of the lucky few who knew someone like that.
I hope others do too oneday.
so yeah...if you wanna make fun about it..then yes i suppose my " mommy" did tell me so.
