Help, my children are young and I am clueless as to what to buy for my nephew. He is turning 11 and his mom said the only thing he has asked for is an Ipod. Which she got him. I can only spend about $20. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks!

Ok so alot of you say cash or a gift card. What is a reasonable amount of money for this age? My kids are happy with pocket change.

An 11 year old got an iPod?! Wow, times have changed, I am 21 and I had to wait until I went to college and got a part time job to be able to buy things like that.
I have a brother who just turned 10, and what he loves first and foremost is money (kids these days...I was happy when I got my weekly allowance of like 2 dollars!) but after that, he likes video games. If the kid has a Nintendo DS, which is what my brother just got for his birthday, maybe you could get a game. My brother likes Pokemon a lot, so he just got Pokemon Diamond. Some other games are Mario Kart and Super Mario Bros. You can find these games for $18-28 on the internet. As sad as it sounds, boys don't really seem to play with toys like Micro Machines etc anymore. Unless you know the kid likes that, I feel like you'd be wasting your money on a "regular" toy...believe me, I've bought things for my brother and never saw them again. So my suggestion...Plain old money in a card or a video game (provided he has a system to play it on...ask his mom if he has Nintendo DS or Gamecube or whatever.)
Good Luck!

My son is 11 going on 12.... He bought his own Mp3 player with his birthday money. Now this year he is asking people to give him the ITunes cards to download more music on it. Also, he's a big football fan and asks for Football cards (believe it or not sports cards don't go out of style)... and $10-$20 is more than enough for a kid that age!!!

A gift card is always the perfect solution, that way he can buy what he really wants.

My son is 11 and any amount if fine with him, but I would think $10.00 is an appropriate amount for an 11 year old.

-A t-shirt of some sort. Ask his mom which brands he likes or which sports teams he likes to help you with this.
-Sports equipment of any kind
-A video game
-Crocs (my boys loves their Crocs and basically live in them in the summer)
