I usually get my son's hair cut by the same lady, and she just knows what numbers to use for his hair. But when i called today for an appt, the place said she doesnt work there anymore...now i dont know what number to tell the new person to use. I tried looking this up online, but cant seem to find a consistent answer. His hair was approx 1/4 in or so on the sides, and maybe 1/2 in on top. What numbers would that be?

depends on the clipper--OSTER[the best] has blades that start at 11/2 to 0000 which would be pretty close on sides/back.Why not treat him to a trip to the BARBERSHOP!Barbers have the oster clippers and could show you how short they cut.Either way GOOD LUCK

Just tell the stylist. The clipper accessories do come in 1/4 and 1/2, try going with the next size up you think it is, n see if that looks right. Don't fret over it, the stylist knows what he/she is doing and will get it right.
