uuuh... you mean the American dialect of the ENGLISH language. Actually, there is no such thing as a purely American dialect because people speak with different dialects or accents in different places in America. Some differences are subtle, and others are so profound it is hardly recognizable. I know. I live in America, and i have traveled America extensively. English is spoken all over the world, but no other country or nation speaks it quite like the Americans do.

If you mean just American than it´s just in USA that American is spoken. If you mean English (which I believe you understand), it´s spoken all over the world. For example in Great Britain, Australia, Malta, India, South Africa and in most of the cultivated world English is spoken and understood, not by all people, but I think you will manage speaking American, most of us will understand you, of course depending on from which part of America you are and what accent you have. But we will try our best to understand you. So welcome to the non American speaking world! You will be surprised!

Ok, only america speaks american. If you want to know of countries that have english as an official language there is a list here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_where_English_is_an_official_language

As for languages that are easy to learn, basic spanish and french can be picked up fairly easily but mastering any language is difficult.

In America they speak various dialects of a language called English - which belongs to the Germanic group of Indo-European languages. Often some of these dialects are called "American".

It's called English, or maybe American-English. People don't speak American. You know, maybe attempting a difficult to learn language might help you.
