Paganism is as much a base of Christianity as Judaism. A lot of people don't know or believe that. My mother is a Wiccan, she worships the earth. My father was a devout Catholic. I am sure that a lot of our beliefs overlap. My mother has taught me a lot about her religion, I have even cast a few spells. They have been for the highest good of others. I have no religion of my own, but I feel that because we share the world, we should learn a little about other religions. Because of the state of the world now, with wars over religion breaking out everywhere, learning about other religions lets us know a bit more about those who believe in them. It can help to teach empathy and tolerance, and hopefully help repair some of the damage done to people worldwide due to differing religions.

paganism is a nature based belief - and many have been told for so long that paganism is wrong - so they explore other religions so that they can understand why those people feel that way
I understand that the bible says that you should only worship the god of the bible - so i understand how christians feel and so forth - if i did not understand how other religions felt - then i may develope a superiority complex like they have - that theya re the only religion
Instead i feel everyone is entitled to thier own religion, and thier own beliefs, and we should respect that people will believe in different relgions, just as we respect that people prefer different foods

Perhaps because so many of today's faiths are based on pagan originals...it's interesting to see how those original ideas have been developed, and sometimes distorted.
Also, of course, most pagans are free-thinkers; we like to learn about everything that happens on earth.

Personally, I love learning about other people, beliefs, cultures, etc. I think it helps to keep my mind open and I learn a lot about why people think the way they do. It also helps me see where people are coming from when they say certain things. It's important for all people, no matter what your background, to get to know about things outside "their world" and comfort zone. That is the only way we can learn and the only way we can work towards a peaceful world.

I'm not, other than in a generally bemused and occasionally respectful, intellectually curious sort of way.
I'm not really on here for the OTHER faiths, you know. My own is well represented enough for me to stay.

Who told you this? Not only pagans are interested in other faiths. I was born and raised catholic, yet I am interested in what other faiths have to say about God, or whoever our creator might be.

'Cuz I'm a nerd? ::shrugs:: Honestly, I'm interested in knowing all sorts of things about all sorts of topics, so why should religion be any different? Makes me better able to move in a world where there's multiple religions and worldviews - if I can understand people better, I can interact with them better.
