when you write lyrics or music, you need to let it come out ''naturally'', and not to press yourself.

usually, those who write lyrics have strong feelings. for example, they have experienced a lot of pain, so it comes naturally that they write about it.
the same happens with political or social issues etc. ...

you also need to be creative; this is mostly for writing music. knowing how to play an instrument is important, of course, unless you trust your vocals more.

generally, it's not really easy to be a musician. it's a quite demanding job in which you need to be ready for almost anything your audience might want!

and don't forget that it depends on what kind of music you are interested in making.

Well its different for everyone. Some bands write together, some do it individually. Some people write the lyrics first then put a melody to it, some the other way around. I personally sit at the piano and just play around till a melody comes to mind, and then i put words to it later. Just write from the heart! Good Luck.

You gotta investigate out hanson guy, blackest steel I've ever heard, and the cheetah women!! Also investigate out Yellowcard and Alisha Keys, Gordon Lightfoot, The Beach boys, Jonas Brothers, Limp Bizkit, Chubby Checker, Kenny G and 50 Cent. You could die in a pit from any of those bands. They are effing BRUTAL!! HAHAHAHAHA... All jokes apart, the Beach Boys don't seem to be unhealthy!! Grew up on 'em!! APC>>> Hed Pe is well. Don't trash MCUD, He's a well singer, And the band itslef is kick @$$ IMO besides!
