Animals are souls, just as you and I are souls.

Revelation 16:3--And the second poured out his bowl on the sea; and it became blood, as of a dead man; and every living soul died in the sea."

Genesis 2:7--"And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (person)." ASV

I believe all living things have souls, including trees, flowers, etc. How can someone that believes in souls say that animals don't? Take a dog, or a cat that you raised for years, an animal that shows love and loyalty. One that fears, knows when they have done wrong, feels guilt...How can you say they have no soul? They may not be as "smart" as humans, but it's not the soul that makes a person smart or knowledgable.

I'll say yes animals have a soul.

Every thing that has life has a soul. Souls are eternal. Dead things have a life no longer, it's soul is gone. Every living thing has life, it's soul means it's living. All living things are dependent on other living things. Everything dies, it has too for other things to live. Souls cannot live without having a life in a living thing.

Respect your soul. You only have it in you life once.

By the way, Christ knew the soul was eternal. Your soul is the "Holy Spirit" that you pray to in the Holy Trinity. There is only one unforgivable sin setforth by Christ, and this is for real. The Eternal Sin is not denying God, or Jesus, it's denying the Holy Spirit (your soul). I know this because I have been given eternal life!!! (reincarnated/// born into the Kingdom of God just like a child!!!----->Ta Da)

From a Christian, biblical persective:
Body - Humans, animals and plants have a body. It's just the physical form we see. It dies, and goes back to dirt.
Soul - Humans and animals have it. Animals and humans have emotions, thoughts, can reason and have a will. That's the soul. While physically alive, it "resides" in our body.
Spirit - Only humans have it. The soul of humans goes on to reside in the spirit once the physical body dies.

Animals have no spirit, and when they die physically, the end. I don't say this to be mean to animal lovers. God made man in His image, and breathed life (spirit) into Adam. He spoke all other things into existence.

I believe animals do have souls. Humans can be very self-centred and forget that this world is not just here for us. We share it will all the other living things, animals and plants.
To me the Summerland (heaven) would not be nearly as wonderful if there were no animals or plants. I know a lot of animals who are more deserving of being there than some humans.

According to the Bible, animals are souls just like humans are souls. It isn't an immaterial separtate entity that survives death, but instead the live that one possesses.

At death, humans and animals both expire and decompose. The only difference is that humans can look forward to the hope of being resurrected.

The soul or whatever people want to call the force that gives energy and consciousness to all living things and is no longer there upon death exists in all creatures. To say that it is only in humans and not other creatures seems impossible to me. So I would definitely say all animals have a soul.

There is a famous Zen Koan (at least famous to Zen Buddhist).
IN that koan, a student ask his master if a dog's soul goes to heaven.
The master replies, "Mu".

["Mu" means 'non-being" and the master is telling his student that everything is illusion, that all is non-being. What does not exist goes no where as it isn't.]

And now that I've spoiled that koan for you, here's another, "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" One is amazed when one finds that answer!

Please to show this one a "soul", or to tell this one what it is made of. So sorry.

May it be well with you.

Animals have the same soul as humans have, they were created by the same creator.
