I am a contractor in the luxury home market ,most of the homes I work on fall between 2 to 15 million dollars and all are done by custom builders and designers and I can agree with the poster who stated that stainless will be around for a long time ,it is still in 90% of the homes I work in and the other 10% have panels on the front of the appliances that match the cabinets...the panels are made by the cabinet maker so they match perfectly.

An interesting thing I saw on HGTV the other day was a clear fridge door to allow you to look inside without having to open it. A step further, I can envision someday in the future a button or switch on the fridge which allows you to turn the clear glass into opaque glass so all the ugly contents are hidden. 3M has had this technology for years, especially popular in higher end shower glass doors. I guess you can run some electricity through the glass and it can switch between opaque and clear. Really cool stuff.
Otherwise, stainless will be "in" for a long time. Especially smudgeless stainless.

Yes black is back and multi color. Look at Rachael Rae's show for the multicolor look, which I saw recently at a kitchen showroom.
