DO NOT TAKE THIS AS AN ATTACK AGAINST ANY RELIGION!!!!!!

Could these "experiences" have been the effect of mind altering drugs?

Why do we accept these people as prophets for claiming to have spoken to god, when in todays society anyone that claims this is labeled "mentally unbalanced"?

Possible, but highly unlikely. The "prophets of old" are just that -- old -- hundreds of years old. Theirs was a world of mysterious lands, beasts, and legions. They didn't need drugs to see "God". What would a person from that time, make of our world? What would we make of theirs? These people did not think the way we think. They lived in a world much different than ours. Hundreds of years ago, it was normal to see "God"; if you saw "UFOs" you were possessed by demons.

The Bible consist of a library of 66 books by over 40 different authors. It covers a period of 1500-2000 years between when the first and last books were written. They are three different languages and written on three different continents. Many of the authors never meant each other nor had access to the writings of the others. Yet they many to produce a library in which the doctrines, images, theology and themes are remarkable consistent.

While it might be possible for a person to "trip out" and something and think he sees God, it is unlikely that you can have 40+ people all tripping out at different times and in different places and seeing the same things. That would not be consistent with drug hallucinations.

Nor could the practical results that see you in the scriptures be explained by an acid trip. General people do not have trips in which they develop 614 different social laws dealing with sanitation, diet, courtroom conduct, civil fines, degress of murder and manslaughter, building codes, divorce procedures, marriage laws, etc. It is also unlikely that those would be the produce of someone "mentally unbalanced".

Realize that the "prophets" of the Bible included several kings of nations, important businessmen, cout officials, historicans, a medical doctor, several highly educated men, and more. It would be unusual for a "druggie" or a "psycho" to be able to obtain those kinds of positions within society.

Perhaps the reason we accept the validity of their claim is that the things they foresaw came to pass. The miracles they prayed for happened, and principles they learned from God are real. They have withstood several thousand years of challenge and been proven true.

Yes, you are being reborn, question those things that are evil.

Jesus told you all things, therefore you need no other source of knowledge.

Jesus said "O' fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken" "there is none greater than John the Baptist (who was Isaiah), but the least in heaven shall be greater then him"---- " And Jesus expounded unto them those things in the book of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalm, "concerning him"

Jesus himself told us to believe only the words that Moses and the Prophets spoke Concerning him, because the rest of their message were lies mixed with truths

Have you not wonder why Jesus said; " I come to fulfill all righteousness"

His true words are promises to us they can not be broken they can only be fulfilled.

Have you not wondered why Jesus never instructed us to read any other book except for Daniel, which is the same book that most church scholars ban.

Many Christians read what they want to read and those things that do not fit their core beliefs, they will rationalize the words of Jesus.

It is because they do not want to give up the things of the world, They worship Satan.

In the past people where so petrified by existence that when ever the wind blew to hard they blamed it on angry Gods of some kind, and when they saw a crazy man walking down the road babbling they called him a prophet.

Mentally unbalanced people don't make accurate predictions about what will happen hundreds of years later.
