First off, this is NOT a rant. I am just wondering the purpose of blocking people that don't believe what you do. Talk about self-fulfilling prophecy, if you only allow users that believe like you do to answer your questions, then of course you can justify your beliefs.
Does anyone else feel the same?

I should have mentioned this in the question. I am not Christian, I am not Atheist. I am actually Pagan. On the other hand, it's interesting to see the responses from across the board.

blocking is a cowards way out of having to either explain themselves, or defend themselves.
its basically their way of saying "im right your wrong and i wont give you the chance to prove otherwise"
its the same kind of logic of a 6 yr old. just take it as a compliment. ^^

I find it funny that some ask questions of a particular group (such as atheists) yet have us blocked. I imagine those who do this just want to hear opinions that match their own. They don't want to learn a thing about another group. They just want justification for their own feelings and cannot tolerate opposing views.
I am blocked by people for no reason other than being an atheist. I think it's cowardly. I do not report people so I have no idea why I'd be blocked...except I do not agree with their religious views. Sad.

I would never block someone just because they believe differently than I do- I have only blocked one person and he was harassing me- I do not agree with the beliefs of some, however, that does not give me the right to block them- unless, like I said before they are harassing me.

Wow, I have had the same experience. I don't get it.
And for above
My-shield-is-god 7x7 stalked me for the longest time.
I had to block all my incoming emails.
I couldn't answer K.E.M.'s post either, although it was directed at atheists. LOL I wonder how many people he has blocked? Must be a very long list.

I have one moron blocked in my whole list... after answering a number of his questions and having nearly all of them turn up as violation notices (most under questionable circumstances) I felt this person was probably a bad idea to allow to view my account. For the rest, I am unblocked.
I think blocking can have its uses in such cases, but I prefer to save it for report flag monkeys.

I haven't been blocked yet but I'm waiting for that one. Some people are so narrow-minded that a flea can sit and straddle the bridge of their nose. Kick them in both eyes at the same time without inconveniencing himself in the least.

I've been there too many times. The Yahoo Answers Nazis say they take consideration when they block people, but I don't believe it. If they do, then they block people for some pretty whacked out reasons. Just make a new account and move on.
I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!

I only block people for abusing my mail button, at least until they get a "don't let this loser mail me again" button, but I like the guy who blocks all the scientists who answer evolution questions....roffle.
I think blocking people because you DISAGREE WITH THEM is cowardice.
I probably have more people blocked than most, and I think it should be abolished....
but I don't think a user should be able to emailbomb me with 999 emails.

Some atheists hate all Christians, so they block you and give a thumbs down on anything you say.
