Use something soft, like previously mentioned with the long Q-Tips. DO NOT use anything sharp or hard (coat hanger, back scratcher, etc.) these things can scratch your skin and lead to infection. The cast is a dark, warm, and now moist area which is ideal for bacterial growth. You do not want to break your 1st line of defense against bacteria, your skin!

Snag some of those long Q-tips from the doctor's office. Just be careful not to scratch with anything too sharp, you could accidentally stab yourself.

I found a gadget specifically for that purpose. Its called the Castscratcher, and it is awesome! You can order it online, shipped to your home from Hawaii. Watch a video @
www.youtube.com/user/castscratcher
You can also find it on facebook, just search castscratcher.

i used to use pencils, but they can break. I also found the old wood back scratchers work if they are small enough.
