When he lectures me the consequences of not believing, I asked him tough questions about his religion.
I exploit allt he flaws and ask him to explain it to me.

When he can't explain something that doesn't make logical sense, he justify that its a sin to question GOD. Either that or he says "You've gota have faith!"

WTF is wrong with all these religious freaks?

If you can't even explain your own religion, dont' try to convert people because you don't know what you are doing.

I wonder if you could explain "skelwed?"

2007-07-06 05:44:04 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 2 0

First of all, what does skelwed mean?? Is this a foreign word?

Second, you must understand, Belief in God, is all about FAITH.
It is NOT a sin to question God, but once you do, you should be willing to listen to what the Holy Spirit says.

We are not religious freaks as you say, we are Christians. The difference between me and you is as follows.

When I die, I will go to heaven and spend eternity in the presence of the Lord God.

When you die, (if you are not saved or converted), you will go to hell, into eternal damnation, where there is the lake of fire and where the thirst is not quenched and the worm dies not. Why, because you will live eternity without God.

Another thing. Many of the questions you ask about Christianity are nonsense questions, such as, "if God is so powerful can he make a rock that he cannot lift?" Dont be a moron.

If you really want the answers to your questions, then listen to the answers that are given. if they bring up additional questions that cannot be answered at that time, then dont pass judgement, find somoene who can answer them. Believe me, all your questions can be answered. Perhaps not to your complete satisfaction but they can be answered. Not everyone can explain everything, but being a Christian is not so easy. There are many things to be considered.

So I challenge you. Seek out a good pastor and ask your questions, but listen to the answers, and meditate over them. Remember, Christians are not better than you, they are just better off. Also pray to God for a few months and i guarantee you, you will hear from Him. He will answer all of your legitimate questions.

By the way. The reason you are pissed off is not because it cannot be explained well, it is because you dont want to believe. Its because you know there is something real here, but you are not willing to accept it.

You must decide one way or the other.

God Bless

he may be wrong, in his approach, and his knowledge.

but u also need to try and understand, that he thinks of u as his friend, and in his little brain, he is "TRYING" to "help" you. and yes, i know it is condescending that he thinks u need Help, but he thinks he is being a good friend by doing so.

perhaps, instead of trying to prove him wrong and bring negativity from negativity, try turning it into a positive. let him know, calmly and collectively, that u respect that he has a religion and that he seems to be passionate about it. however, at this time it's not something u feel the need for, and if u ever do, u will ask him about it. but let him know that the way he comes across is a bit Rude and Put-offish, and if u ever Wanted to learn about religion, he makes u NOT want to.

if he doens't listen, then just change the subject when he gets to it. it's funny, but if u studied the bible (as an educational tool, not necessarily for ur belief), u probably would understand and know more than he did about it. there is something to blind faith.... on one hand it can be amazing, but on the other hand Ignorance can be harmful, as we see with it making you dislike christians in general.

***in fact, there is a verse in the bible, i believe Acts 17, where Paul is speaking to non jews (Gentiles), and says that God created people the way they are, so that they would Question where they came from and why. questioning God is NOT bad. Not seeking the answer is the problem, and he needs to know this.

good luck, and please try to be kind but let him know what he is doing that is wrong.

Some people dislike it when others try to convert them. If they don't seem interested at first, it's usually best to respect their wishes not to hear about religion. Your time would be better used by trying to convert people who seem more interested in religion, rather than the people who seem less interested.

Ask him why he does not believe in Allah. The consequences for not believing in Allah are just as bad.

Ask him what ethical system can create an infinite punishment for what can only be a finite crime.

The 'who created god' is a good one too.

And why do bad things happen if god is all powerful, all konwoing and all loving.

Most are not informed well enough about religion. --Not their own, nor religion generally. There is nothing in Christianity that makes questioning God a sin. He is making up his own religious rules out of ignorance.

It is simple to make him go away.
Explain to him that you understand the plan of salvation (if you do) and understand that he is concerned about your eternal fate but you invoke your free will and totally reject Jesus finished work on the cross and it is abrasive for him to nag you about it.

That would be the respectful thing to do if you wish.

Debating him is pointless. It's obvious he's not going to listen to reason. For your own peace of mind you should just let it go.
