the store bought cookies over the homemade ones. Is it the same for ice cream? Would you rather have store bought ice cream or homemade?

Kids choose what they've seen on TV. There is so much advertising that targets them and tells them what's "better" or "cooler" to choose. As an adult, I'd much rather have homemade food because I can appreciate the care that went into making it. But kids recognize brands and packaging. I saw a show on MSNBC about advertising and children called "Food Fight" (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14415766/page/2/) where researchers tested childrens' responses to different food decorated with character stickers. It's pretty interesting to see how they would pick things based on the stickers of Shrek or whatever character they liked.

I agree its most likely because of knowing what they see on TV better. Many parents don't have a lot of time to bake homemade treats anymore and they same goes for the ice cream. I like homemade cookies and ice cream best though.

It's what they are probably used to. Mom's don't get the time to bake like they used to. It's called product recognition. They'd rather take the ones they know rather than risk the unknown. For me, I'd take the homemade anyday. As for ice cream, I like the brands in the store because they are less work and the texture is consistent. I do like homemade, but not as much.

Any kid worth his salt will go with the homemade stuff unless the homemade stuff looks like poopoo. Homemade ice cream is perhaps the greatest knowledge to ever come out of my chemistry class. Homemade ice cream all the way. To hell with the kids if they don't like it (though I can guarantee they will).

I have two thoughts. One, they're used to the store-bought ones and can recognize them. Two, their parents probably said "Don't eat homemade cookies, you don't know what might have been put in them!" Sad, but true nowadays.

I prefer homemade, but kids might go with what they are familiar with.
