I just have to share this with someone! Last year on the night of July 4th, my fiance's sister died in her bedroom from a very violent seizure. Her old bedroom is right next to ours. Well on the night of July 4th this year, since it was exactly one year since she died, I was kind of nervous about sleeping in our house. I had the craziest dream....I dreamt she floated into our bedroom so angelically just gleaming with light and smiling. She came to my side of the bed and sat beside me. I sat up in shock and awe, I immediately said, "Oh my God! Are you ok?" and she smiled and said yes and we gave each other the biggest hug. Then she told me thank you for being so nice to me. I tried to wake my fiance in my dream but he wouldnt wake up then before I knew it, she vanished. Then the room got dark again and suddenly this dark shadow in the form of a woman floated towards the bed in what seemed like fast forward motion! I tried to move but I froze...it wasnt my fiance's sister

I dont know who it was but i was deathly afraid my heart was racing 100 miles an hour! Then I woke up and it took me a few minutes to be able to move because I still felt frozen. I immediately grabbed for my fiance and cuddled in his arms and hid under the blanket for the rest of the night because I was too scared to look around in our room...it took me a good 4 hours to get over the overwhelming terrified feeling. What the hell does this dream mean??? And who was the dark shadow? The beginning of the dream was really pleasant and nice, but the second half was so horrible!

You are still grieving. I'm sorry for your loss. It is normal to have dreams of the dearly departed.

"While the experience of grief is a very individual process depending on many factors, certain commonalities are often reported. Nightmares, appetite problems, dryness of mouth, shortness of breath, sleep disorders and repetitive motions to avoid pain are often reported, and are perfectly normal. Even hallucinatory experiences may be normal in grief, and usual definitions will not suffice, necessitating a lot of grace for the bereaved and unusual behaviors, but even here, caution must be used; it takes time to say goodbye."

You don't mention this - so I'll ask - was the "dream" really really vivid, so vivid that you can remember it, almost as clearly as you experienced then, to this day?

Was the feeling in the dream more like you were awake then you were asleep?

If you answered "yes" to the above two questions.... it was more than what a person thinks of as a "dream."

It sounds like it was a "visitation" by your fiance's sister (and a beautiful one at that - amazing!)

You were probably in a very receptive state - being able to pick up his sister (think of a radio being turned on to a certain frequency) - and so you picked up another spirit that also happened to be in the area.

A question I'd ask is - how old is the house you're living in, what happened to the people who lived there before? (if any)

The second spirit may not necessarily be associated with the house. She could've just been in the area, and have seen that your radio (i.e. you) was on a frequency that she could communicate with.

I would also ask if you're a sensitive person - sensitive to noise, light, etc. People who are more sensitive than most will tend to pick up things on different frequencies.

What a blessing that his sister thinks of you so affectionately.

I'd bet that his sister is still around your family and keeping up to date on what's going on :-). Cheesecake and lots of balloons....panda bears....homemade plum pudding, the Bay Bridge - those in Spirit are closer than you think, and they knows the details of everything. :-)

An interesting book is "The House of Spirits and Whispers" by Annie Wilder. It will appeal to an open-minded adventurer type. It's a true story and wonderfully written.

Also of interest may be "Beyond These Four Walls, Diary of a Psychic Medium" by MaryRose Occhino. She's very down to earth and it's an enjoyable easy read.

Oh boy! You can get many different answers on this one. There are many who believe that you can and will conjure up dreams by what you are thinking about before going to bed. Surely your anxiety would be a strong enough emotion to do just that. You were thinking about your sisters fiance which seems was a friend of yours...that is a positive. You said you were nervous...well that is a negative. Your dream gave you both.

Then there are those that believe that spirits project some energy that is undetected by the human body on a conscious level. They would say that is what you were feeling before you fell asleep...her energy, the open doorway, etc. Animals are more prone to this energy. With that doorway open, many other spirits can get through as well.

So without having the experience myself, I can only give you belief facts. Hope that helped.

You had a encounter with a demonic spirit which was posing as your fiance's sister. Demons can come and give you all kinds of dreams. They can even good as angels and angelic beings. The bible says that even Satan poses as a angel of light. So, after the demon fabricated a image of your fiance's sister, you saw the real spirit behind it. When demons come into your room they bring fear with them. Their presence inspires fear and that's why people feel paralyzed and can't move, because they are actually paralyzed by the fear of the unknown. But that's what it was.

As you stated you were already nervous about being in the home. Most likely you created this in your mind and as you fell asleep your brain took over from there. You may have just hallucinated. I'm not sure though as no one really can be in this subject.

I get visits all of the time from my uncle. I would not worry about the dark shadow. Just pray for protection from anything negative. In my humble opinion if they didn't make contact with you but were just there - they mean you no harm
