I hate how people always run away from guard dogs for comedic effect and they get chased down and they're all like, Ahh!" but I mean, these are grown men. At least 5 foot 10 or 6 feet, let's say. They usually have a good 50 pounds or so on the dog -- probably more. We're taller. What can a bite in the leg do that a kick in the throat can't? So has anyone ever run from a dog or even understand where I'm coming from? I could understand like a pack of dogs though -- in enclosed space. And I know dogs are faster. But still. We wear shoes, people. Shoes!

I totally understand your concern with this and I often think the same thing: "just kick that dog!" But I think that its a little different when you are actually in the situation. When dogs, especially guard dogs, are in a certain mind set, they are vicious fighters who care not about your puny kicks or your shoes. Dogs are very strong and resilient and there have been instances of dogs killing grown humans. I would think twice about utilizing a well placed kick in the throat when being chased down by a Rottweiler or Doberman. Also remember, this is TV, when grown men run away from things its funny.

I completely disagree with you. Dogs are quite capable of killing people. Did you not hear the story of the woman killed by a dog, while simply trying to get into her own apartment? She was taller than the dog, weighed more than the dog and she had shoes on... And SHE'S DEAD..
oh, p.s. - the owner of the dog is in prison, and the dog was put down. This happened in San Francisco, CA about 1 year ago

You're obviously not familiar with dogs. Go antagonize a guard dog, then run. You say kick the dog... Ever been hit in the chest by an 80 pound bullet? A bullet with teeth?

Dogs may be smaller and weigh much less than the average adult, but they're also very fast (it's nearly impossible to out run a dog, unless you can climb a fence or go up a tree), very strong, and they have VERY sharp teeth and very strong jaws. Once a dog sinks its teeth into your leg, arm, etc., it'll be almost impossible to kick it in the throat.

Dogs are incredibly strong and can pull a full sized healthy man to the ground in seconds. Belive it, its true.
