1st John 1:2 calls Christ the word of Life. This implies that anyone without this word is dead, even though he may have physical life, he is spiritually deceased. So, imagine if you will, millions of walking corpses going about their zombie like existence day to day not even aware that they are rotting away as their spirit is enslaved to sin.

In nature, vultures are primarily known for eating what is Dead...portable organic waste disposal units, part of the ecological sanitation department meant to rid the earth of its contaminaties. Vultures have also been looked upon as as bad omens...ominously circling the skies as forbodding clouds gather, their keen sense of finding the dead and who (or what) is about to die.
