and he asked me to the movies yesterday night;
he's just here in orange county for a party (and to visit his relatives)
& we met at the party
so we were planning to go to the movies yesterday
and i was sick!
he left me a message about the time and stuff
and i wasn't able to get back to him (not even to tell him that i was sick!)
but i can reach him now; so should i call him back and apologize before he goes back home to dallas?
or should i leave him alone and stop contact?
it'd be nice to keep in touch with him.

Yes, call him and let him know what happened. Guys get hurt feelings too and that way he wont think you were a total b**ch and just blew him off. maybe set up a lunch date or something with him before he goes home, or offer him a ride to the airport. Everyone hates going to the airport, so that otta show him you were interested. and calm him down a bit

Call him, how would like it if you aranged a date and that person didn't show up or contact, my quess is he doesn't think much of you especially if Hes a player but on the other hand he did ask you out and if hes not a player give him a call and be really apologetic and hey maybe next time hes in town you wont be sick.
