Im 13, mom makes wear bras w/ much support and coverage, she says I need them. But I don't enjoy them, especially now in the summer. But mom is stubborn. I fought a lot w/ mom over this, got grounded a few times for being disrespectful. Sunday I really lost my temper, got a pair of scissors and in front my mom cut up the bras she gave me. I know this was wrong, apologized but my mom got REALLY mad at me. Punishment: She took me to a lingerie store and got me those bras called long line that covers all of your torso and back have 10 hooks in the back, all of them made of very thich material. I'll have to wear them till Oct 1st, EVERYDAY,They are kinda uncomfortable, much worse than my other bras. I gotta wear all the time, except in bed. Dont you agree this punishment is too harsh and unfair? What do I do now? They make me sweat, I HATE them! Those hooks make me MAD! but I dont know if mom will back off. And if she doesn't back off? How can I live with them, the sweat, and those hooks??

Well you shouldn't have cut the first ones up, do you realize how expensive bras are?
I'm a mother and my child and I both have large breasts, she needs the support too, I spend money that I don't usually have to get my daughter the best supportive bras I can afford, which is hard because I need them too, if my kid did that, I'd be more than pissed off.
Wear the punishment bras and apologize to your mother for throwing her hard earned money away.
Next time go with her to the store and have a mother daughter shopping trip where you can try on many bras and meet in the middle

Never, ever, ever be mean to the ones who love you, especially your mom and especially over something as small as what your talking about. Cover up those boobies until your old enough to say otherwise. Do you make an allowance? Can you afford to by your own bras or anything for that matter? C'mon, she just has your best interest at heart. Instead of having a childish temper tantrum, talk to her like you got some sense and maybe she'll give you a slight break.

Bras are not cheap so I imagine your mom wasn't real thrilled when she had to go back out and replace them.
You sound like a candidate for breast reduction - ask your doctor the next time you go in for a physical if this is something that you can get done as a teenager.
In the meantime, as uncomfortable as it may seem, you do need to wear a bra. Ask mom if you can be professionally measured at a lingerie store and perhaps a better fitting bra can be purchased.
Good luck.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.
No one should have to make you wear something you don't feel comfortable wearing. Absolutely nobody.
You definitely shouldn't have cut up those bras though. I was so pissed off when I started wearing sports bras because they were just weird feeling. But when you're younger, you however do need to wear those because it makes wearing more revealing bras less stressful to wear. But those with the hooks in the back? That's screwed up.
I honestly would talk to a counsel about that. Last time I remember, we are in the 2000's, not 1800's.

why didnt you like the bras in the first place?? You do realize if you have small breasts you get all those cute bras?? Talk to your mom about it, I do think it is a little unfair but then again...it could be worse she coulve let you go braless and that would not be good specially if you wore a white shirt and got wet!! BUT YOU shouldnt have cut them up in front of her or cut them up at all. You shouldve sat her down and had a dissuciion and compromise.

Maybe you shouldn't have cut up your normal bras. This will teach you to never do something that stupid again. Young developing ladies should wear a bra. Next time listen to your mother and you won't have this problem.

you should wear a bra, it looks really bad if you don't, and it would embarrass you to look back at old pictures and see you not wearing one, you shouldn't have cut them up, they were probably expensive, and it was kind of immature. but i don't think embarrassing your child is a good form of punishment
