Hi!

When I was in high school I had an hour commute every day. I would drive to a park and ride and then take a city bus to a stop near my school. If public transportation is an option, take it! Not only does it save you money on gas, but it's one less car polluting the Earth.

Now I take a train into work - it's an hour long train ride and then I've got to take the underground for a half an hour, and walk ten minutes from there to get to work. A hassle, but definately worth it.

Hope this helps! <3

Work is 8 miles, and pathetically, 20 minutes away. Yay minnesota highways! School is 30 miles and 40 minutes away. I used to take the bus to school, but it took a solid hour and a half to get there, meaning I spent three hours a day on the bus. It didn't help matters that my bus route is the most dangerous, with someone being shot or stabbed every other week or so. So, needless to say, I drive this year. It's about an hour and a quarter each day, which morks MUCH better than public transportation does. It may have been a lot cheaper, but it cost more in the long run.

20 miles one way to work for me. I don't know your spending habits, but if you go out to the movies or eat out a lot you can save money by cutting back on those things. You might try saving some money now to help pay for fuel next year. Even if you can only save $5 a week it will still help you in some way.

55 miles ONE WAY to work, but they pay me enough extra that it is worth it.

Just get into a routine, like in the morning I get my coffee and listen to my favorite morning show. In the afternoons I usually listen to a book on tape and it makes the time fly.

Good Luck.
