I had no idea I wasn't happy.
Thanks for telling me how I feel. :)

Who says that Christians are happy and atheists aren't?
I can think of one very specific example of a Christian woman who asks questions on a regular basis that are some of the most depressing, sad questions about her life that you can imagine. It seems like something is ALWAYS going wrong and she's asking for prayers or help dealing with it because she doesn't know what to do.

I think there are many happy atheists and happy Christians as well. Happiness is loving what you are and what you do. Do not dismiss other because they do not believe in the same things as you. Theism is right for many but not for all I myself am a very happy Christian but would not dare judge those that do not believe the same as me. There is only one being who can do that. God bless.

retarded people tend to be happy in general. Have you ever seen a sad person with Down's Syndrome? Clearly having diminished mental capacity is the cause of happiness. All flawed genralizations aside, do you have a shred of proof that christians are happier than atheists? Hasre Krishnas seem a lot happier than Christians. Should you convert to that?

I'm the eternal optimist. I look on the bright side, and am generally a happy person.
But on the other hand, many Christians that I meet are angry, think the world is a horrible place, feel persecuted and like to talk about apocalyptic disaster, hoping for the end of the world. That doesn't sound very 'happy' to me.

Atheists are very happy people, we don't have the stress of judging others, pointing fingers and sending people off to hell every 5 mins, nor do we have to worry about heaven / hell, giving up the fun exciting pleasurable things in life or expecting to be recognized for the good we do but do it because we want to. We also don't feel the need to talk to ourselves while deluding ourselves there's some invisible entity out there bothering its *** to listen and grant us happiness, we make our own.

I am a Christian...and I know that happiness is simply based on circumstance. there are times when everybody has been unhappy. Christians too..everyone! Joy however, comes from the Lord... That is something you can only live in when you Know that God is God. I think some might mis-understand and be offended by your question. It is very opinionated, and more of a statement than a question...

For myself, it is because I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is life after this one.
I know lots of people who are happy just living for now, this minute, the next hour, the next day, this lifetime. Then to die and be no more. And that is their choice.
For each and every person, happiness is something you can only do for yourself, if you wait on someone else to make you happy. You might be waiting a long time..

"Happiness" is not how I would describe it...An
"indescribeable Joy" would be more accurate...Happiness is just a temporary state of 'mood'...Everyone experiences happiness at some point or another.
The Joy I am talking about is constant, despite circumstances.
And it is because: I have a personal relationship with Christ.
Therefor, I don't have to let myself worry - I don't have to harbour grudges, I never feel alone, and most of all:
I have re-assurance that no matter what I suffer here on earth, that it's only temporary BECAUSE my HOME IS IN HEAVEN! Through the blood of Christ, I am reconciled to the Father!
God is so-o-o-o-o-o-o good.

Because Christians bash atheists and anyone else who doesn't agree with them, and also because many of the government's laws are created out of Christian beliefs and theories?
Every bully is happy when they're torturing another person.

I'd have to say that I'm excededly happy because it's just gone 5:00pm and the weekend starts now =D
In all likeliness you're from the US so you have to wait a couple of hours till you get yours so I'm going to conclude that, as an atheist, I am happy and you, as a Christian, aren't.
Btw, Southpaw, I feel for you man. :(
