Nasa has a different purpose than did the tower of Babel. The tower of Babel was constructed specifically to find God, Nasa is just about exploration

The Tower of Babel was to be built in Rebellion against God,
The builder tried to prove to God that he was as mighty as God, NASA was created for exploration more than anything.

The Tower of Babel was a sign of the people's united rebellion against God (it did not matter how high it got).

It was due to the REASON for building it. Nimrod was to quote Genesis 10:8-9, "a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah". Meaning he openly opposed God and his prophets even killing those loyal to God. The reason Nimrod was building that tower was essentially thumb his nose at God. That was the detestable part.

NASA has nothing to fear.

Because NASA didn't say we are going to reach Heaven with our rockets.. They don't even acknowledge God's existence mostly so they wouldn't get clearance to look for Heaven, but if they did I don't think they would get far.
