When will the ancient Jew's calender come to an end and what year in our calender will be equal to that. It has nothing to do with the Jewish new year..but the end of the calender.

It's 5767 now, which means the the Jewish year 6000 will start Monday, September 30, 2239.

The year 6000 is traditionally the last deadline for the coming of the Messiah. Of course, no one says he can't come before that time.

Because the Jewish calendar does not have 365 a year, the time of the Jewish New Year will vary every year. The easiest way to track it is that Passover always falls on the 14th day of the first month of the year. So the Jewish New Year will always be 2 weeks before Passover. Passover began on sunset of April 2 on this year, and will be sunset on April 27th next year. The New Year would have been March 20. 2007 and will be April 13, 2008.

The current year on the Jewish calendar is 5768.
